Wigan edge closer to deal for Gambia international Darbo

Wigan are in talks over a deal for Gambia Under 20 winger Alieu Darbo.

The Swedish-born free agent, 19, who has also had a spell training with Sunderland, hopes to sign once he has shaken off a knee injury.

Darbo was released from his contract at Le Mans in January.

He said: 'I have a verbal agreement with Wigan.'
