Watford 0 Tottenham 1: Van der Vaart rescues Redknapp as Spurs survive fright
Rafael van der Vaart's strike just before half-time secured a place in the fifth round of the FA Cup but Tottenham were given a fright at Vicarage Road.
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp returned to the Spurs dug-out after a week at Southwark Crown Court answering tax evasion charges.
But Watford gave him an uncomfortable evening as the lively Marvin Sordell missed two chances to put them ahead and Prince Buaben also went close to opening the scoring..
But Van der Vaart popped up three minutes from the break and fired past Scott Loach from 30 yards.
Watford continued to press after the break and Mark Yeates, who was released by Tottenham five years ago, almost set up the equaliser, swinging in a deep corner that found John Eustace in the box but his header hit a post and went wide.
