QPR in Taiwo swoop as AC Milan defender agrees Loftus Road loan deal
On the move: Taiwo is set to join QPR
Queens Park Rangers have pulled off a coup by agreeing a loan deal for AC Milan left-back Taye Taiwo.
The 26-year-old had been discussed as a possible option at Arsenal but his agent Fabio Parisi flew into London on Thursday to complete talks at Loftus Road and the Nigeria international has agreed to sign with view to making the deal permanent in the summer.
Taiwo only moved to Milan from Marseille in the summer. QPR captain Joey Barton greeted the news with a tweet saying: 'Taye Taiwo from AC Milan, signing for the R's. Was very good when I seen him for Marseille. Good news.'
Manager Mark Hughes remains keen on Tottenham's Steven Pienaar and Heurelho Gomes but is battling to finalise a deal for Chelsea defender Alex.
Aston Villa's James Collins may come back into the reckoning as the deadline approaches.
