The sight of Robin Van Persie moving to Manchester United in the summer made many an Arsenal fan feel a bit sick.

But it appears the Dutch star's 24m move north has had an nauseating effect on his life at home too.

A tongue-in-cheek programme by a Dutch television channel filmed inside the Van Persie family home, and translated by talkSPORT, has revealed that his young daughter and 'lifelong Gooner' Dina regularly spews up at the sight of her daddy playing in a United shirt.

And the prolific striker, who has scored 19 goals in all competitions so far this season, said that he laughed at Arsenal's offer of a new contract in the summer and threw it in the bin.

The clip starts with Van Persie talking about how difficult it was to leave Arsenal and shows pictures in his living room wearing an Arsenal tracksuit while cradling baby Dina.

He says: It wasn't easy to leave the Gunners, I didn't want to, but this was a once in a lifetime opportunity. My kids are both Gooners, so it was tough.

'But I've more than doubled my wages, which is ace. That gives my two little ones a better chance in life.'

His wife Bouchra and baby daughter then take centre stage.

Speaking in the kitchen, Bouchra says: 'I must admit the move was very stressful for the baby. As a lifelong Gooner, she was disgusted by her old man.

'It still makes her feel sick just talking about it. She saw a photo of daddy with Fergie…'

Right on cue, Dina throws up on the kitchen floor and Robin has to mop it up as his wife jokingly calls him a 'traitor.'

Later, she says: 'The baby told me she has lost all respect for her old man.'

The programme may be intended to be light-hearted, but Gunners fans might take offence at these comments at the end: 'I know the baby is upset, but I had to leave.

'It still makes me laugh to think about the new contract I was offered by them. I said 'Oh really' Then I dropped it in the bin and packed my bags.'

Raheem Sterling must sign new Liverpool deal, says Damien Comolli

Sign up, Sterling! Ex-Liverpool chief Comolli urges teenager to end saga

UPDATED:

15:17 GMT, 19 December 2012

Former Liverpool director of football Damien Comolli has urged teenage winger Raheem Sterling to sign a new contract at the club.

The youngster turned 18 earlier this month but negotiations over his first senior deal have yet to reach an conclusion over wage demands, and other clubs are closely monitoring the situation.

Manager Brendan Rodgers remains confident an agreement will be reached and Comolli, who was at Anfield when Sterling broke into the first team under former boss Kenny Dalglish, advised the player to stay put.

Sign up: Comolli believes Raheem Sterling should commit his future to Liverpool

'My advice would be sign the contract and stay at Liverpool unless there is something which makes him really uncomfortable,' said the Frenchman.

'We tried to look after Raheem as much as we could – he was really a long-term project – and I think he should commit.

'I really don’t think money should be an issue. He is 18 and it is going to be one of many contracts he is going to sign and he is going to end up being a wealthy individual.

'The important contract, if you are money-orientated, is the one you sign when you are 31 not 18.'

Liverpool are closing in on deals to sign Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge and Blackpool’s Tom Ince, who left the Reds as a reserve-team player in the summer of 2011 having rejected the offer of a new contract.

The Reds have been criticised for their handling of the Ince situation but Comolli, sacked by owners Fenway Sports Group in April, insists the issue was not in their control at the time.

And he backed the 20-year-old, who has scored 13 goals in the npower Championship, to return a better player.

'When I arrived (at Liverpool in November 2010) Tom was at the end of his contract,' the Frenchman told talkSPORT.

One of the first things I did was meet him and his dad, and Paul was concerned the style of play (under Roy Hodgson) was not suited to his son, who was a quick winger.

'When Roy went I think we made four or five contract offers to Tom which he kept turning down…he didn’t feel it was the right place for him to stay.

'The last offer would have made him the highest-earning player beneath the first team but to be fair to him I don’t think money was the issue.

'We never released him. You don’t release a player like this, you can’t force him to stay.

'I am very pleased that he is doing well. If they buy him back, good for him and good for Liverpool.'

Fabio Borini broke his foot with Italy U21s earlier this week and Andy Carroll is on loan at West Ham.

Hooper signed for the Scottish champions in 2010 and has impressed for Neil Lennon's side since.

MK Dons remain interested in trying to sign Tottenham's David Bentley, however manager Karl Robinson believes he has a tough task to persuade the midfielder to join the npower League One club.

There was talk in February of Bentley attempting to reignite his career with a loan spell at stadium:mk.

The former Arsenal trainee, who joined Tottenham from Blackburn in a 15million deal in the summer of 2008, found first-team opportunities in short supply at White Hart Lane under then-manager Harry Redknapp over the last two campaigns and has not played for Spurs since November 2010.

'I'd love to take Bents, but the chairman says I'm not allowed,' joked Robinson on Talksport.

'David Bentley is a good friend of mine, he's someone I know well from Blackburn and we have the same agent.

'It's a deal I'd love to try and make happen but David Bentley has got tremendous quality and I'd be very, very surprised to see him playing outside of the Premier League.'

However, Bentley had time out of the top flight. He spent the second half of the 2010-11 campaign at Birmingham and returned to the Championship last season, playing five times for West Ham before undergoing surgery on a knee injury in October.

But with Redknapp having now left Tottenham, the 27-year-old may look to get his career back on track at White Hart Lane under new manager Andre Villas-Boas.

MK Dons have already signed one former England international this summer with Alan Smith, who finished last season on loan at the Milton Keynes club, agreeing a two-year deal after being released by Newcastle.

The fight for Nuri Sahin looks set to continue for some time yet after AC Milan became the latest club to approach Real Madrid about the star.

Arsenal and Liverpool have both made firm contact with Madrid regarding the future of the Turkey international, who has been told he can quit the Spanish champions.

The Gunners were leading he chase last week but the relationship Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers enjoys with Jose Mourinho, the Madrid boss, has slowed things down for Arsene Wenger.

And not the Italian giants have thrown their hat into the ring, according to talkSport.

Milan are desperate to strengthen their squad having sold both Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, as well as released several of their elder statesmen, including Mark van Bommell and Clarence Seedorf.

Sahin only moved to Spain last summer having helped Borussia Dortmund to the German title as the Bundesliga's player of the season.

However his early progress was hampered by injury and his mustered a mere handful of appearances under Mourinho.

Tottenham turned down the chance to take the 23-year-old on loan as part of any proposed deal to sell Luka Modric to the La Liga side.

Milan and Real Madrid played out an entertaining pre-season friendly in New York on Wednesday night, won 5-1 by the Spaniards at Yankee Stadium. Sahin played 16 minutes as a substitute.

The 24-year-old was strongly linked with a move to either the Blues or their Champions League final opponents Bayern Munich in January, but neither side was willing to meet the 20million asking price.

But with the World Cup runner-up's contract six months closer to expiry and with the Dutch league title secured, Ajax are asking for significantly less money for the player.

Justin Fashanu was not gay, says John Fashanu

Denial: Fashanu claims his brother Justin (above) was not gay

John Fashanu has sensationally revealed that he doesn’t believe his brother Justin was gay.

Former Wimbledon striker and TV presenter, John, has spoken in depth about his brother – who became the first professional footballer to come out in 1990 – in a candid interview with talkSPORT.

‘I don’t believe he was gay. Number two, I don’t believe he had affairs with MPs and number three I don’t believe he was having an affair with one of the young ladies from Coronation Street – it was just nonsense. Showbiz,’ said Fashanu.

‘If you had a brother who came out and said, “Hey listen, I’m gay” we’d welcome you, say “No problem” but if you had someone who came out and said, “I’m a spaceman” when you’re not a spaceman then that’s a bit silly.

Justin remains the only professional footballer to have come out in this country, and his brother believes that will remain the case.

‘It’s a macho man’s game and I think there are reasons why we haven’t had any gay footballers come out,’ he said.

‘I don’t believe there will be. I’m not saying there aren’t some there, but I can tell you in twenty years of playing all my matches I have never come across a gay footballer.

Strained relationship: John admitted he didn't get on with his brother

‘I’m not someone who says, “I’ve got
black friends, they’re all good people.” I’m not going to say “I’ve got
gay friends, who are all good people.” It’s unfortunate because I don’t
believe he was, and if he was, who gives a rat’s a*** So what But
don’t go and sell your stories or make up stories for money for goodness
sake. I’m heterosexual, will I make it on to the front page of the
newspapers'

Fashanu added: ‘My daughter was very close to her uncle and it has taken a long time for her to understand that Justin wasn’t really gay, he just wanted attention. I remember Justin coming out with another story about him dating Coronation Street lady as well. Again, that was another made up story to get front pages. When I said this to Justin he’d say, “I need publicity, I need publicity.” That was where he’d derive his attention and his money.

‘It wasn’t the fact of him being gay, or whether he’s white or whether he’s black, that was never a concern to me whatsoever. What was a concern to me was somebody going and screaming on the rooftops ‘I’m black’ or ‘I’m heterosexual’ or ‘I’m gay’ to get publicity or money. Making up stories to get attention.’

Tragedy: Justin committed suicide in 1998

Fashanu also revealed that his relationship with with his brother was strained around the time of Justin’s suicide in 1998.

‘Strained, I would say,’ he said. ‘I had to look at my mother who had cancer at the time, I had to take the mantle of being head of the family because Justin was not acting accordingly. My mum could not understand for the life of her she couldn’t understand this man, her son, so I made it clear that I could do whatever’s necessary to protect my family.

‘Some people might say it’s selfish, my daughter said to me, “You’re my Daddy, I love you, but you were selfish, you disowned your brother.” I said, “I didn’t disown my brother, but I pushed him further away because of the challenges that he was going to bring into our family.”’

Andy Gray has revealed he considered killing himself after being sacked by Sky Sports over his sexism row.

The broadcaster was axed after making lewd comments with presenter Richard Keys that were recorded off air.

The pair now present a radio show together for talkSPORT but Gray admits he is still haunted by the scandal.

And the former Everton and Aston Villa striker admitted he thought about taking his own life.

Asked in an Evening Standard interview whether he considered suicide, Gray said: 'Yes. I would be lying if I said I didn't. I had never felt like I have felt from January 25th (last year) onwards.'

He added: 'It happened on a Saturday morning. I got a call on Monday from Andy Melvin (deputy head of Sky Sports) just telling us “Don't come in today for Monday night football.” 'It escalated from there for some reason, I've no idea why.'

Gray was eventually sacked by Sky after leaked footage showed him making sexist remarks about assistant referee Sian Massey. Soon afterwards, another clips of him making a lewd comment to Sky colleague Charlotte Jackson emerged.

But Gray said: 'This was a private bit of banter released to the social media and for some reason the press etc tore us apart.

'I have no problems with a woman referee. It wasn't a criticism, it was a light-hearted quip.

Back together: Gray and Richard Keys returned with their radio show

'I wish I'd never said it and, if I caused Sian any problems, then of course I'm terribly disappointed. Richard phoned her, apologised on our behalf and she said “Don't be so stupid, guys.”'

On the Jackson incident, he added: 'Again, it's probably an old man trying to be funny. It was no more than that. Charlotte knows us very well. For 17 years, my life was a dressing room and everyone who's been in a dressing room knows what kind of banter goes on.

'It's a place where you can get ripped apart at times by your fellow players. We had that type of dressing room at Sky where we wanted people to feel comfortable and we had conversations about many things.

'In 20 years in studios up and down the country I've heard people saying things off camera that would make your hair curl. I do not see myself as sexist. Not in a million years.

'I have four daughters and I was brought up by a wonderful mother on her own. She's 91 and is distraught about what happened.'

Cryer, a student at Newcastle University, appeared before city magistrates to deny sending messages that were 'grossly offensive'.

He gave his address to the court as Coal Clough Lane, Burnley, Lancashire.

The case will be heard on April 2 and
is expected to last two hours. The defence called for one specific
witness, unnamed in court, to attend on that day.

Cryer was arrested last month after
Collymore reported the alleged online abuse to Staffordshire Police and
they passed the matter to their Northumbria Police counterparts.

Collymore, 40, originally from
Staffordshire, played for a string of top clubs, including Liverpool,
Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.

He works as a broadcaster for

the Depression Alliance charity.
