BT Sport's list of big-name signings expanded again today as they added Manchester United striker Robin van Persie to their star-studded line-up.

The broadcaster, who will air 38 Premier League games next season, confirmed the news on Twitter that Van Persie will appear alongside Gareth Bale in ad campaigns for their coverage.

Van Persie leads the Premier League scoring charts this season with 24 goals to his name, one more than Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, and the Dutchman's hat-trick against Aston Villa on Monday night sealed United's 20th top-flight title.

BT have also snapped up Arsenal youngster Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Luis Suarez might have had a sleepless night after facing the furore over his shocking bite of Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, but he does have some good news – he's gained a new follower on Twitter.

His new subscriber is none other than Mike Tyson, who surely would have felt sympathy for the Liverpool striker, having sparked a biting storm of his own after the former heavyweight champion bit Evander Holyfield on the ear in 1997.

Suarez sank his teeth into Ivanovic's arm midway through the second half of the 2-2 draw, before going on to score in the dying seconds to steal Liverpool a point.

Liverpool have confirmed the striker will face a club sanction while the Uruguayan faces a wait to hear of any disciplinary action from the FA.

Tyson knows all about the fall-out of
biting an opponent, being disqualified from the world title fight and
fined 2 million after taking a chunk out of Holyfield's ear.

Perhaps he could Tweet Suarez a few tips on how to stop all the cannibal jokes…

Bayern Munich lead the race to sign Luis Suarez – Liverpool striker"s agent is Pep Guardiola"s brother

Liverpool want to keep Bayern target Suarez… but the bad news is that his agent is Guardiola's BROTHER

Bayern Munich are ready to play their trump card in a three-way battle to land Luis Suarez after it emerged that Pep Guardiola's brother is advising the Liverpool striker on his future.

Senior sources at Juventus confirmed their intention to join the bidding for 40million-rated Suarez, while Guardiola's old club Barcelona are also in the frame.

But Serie A leaders Juve have privately
admitted Bayern are in pole position, due to Guardiola's brother Pere
being Suarez's agent.

Former Barca boss Guardiola has been
promised substantial transfer backing, after agreeing two months ago to
replace Jupp Heynckes at the end of the season, and has earmarked
Liverpool's prolific frontrunner as his main target.

Bayern's seemingly unassailable lead
at the top of the Bundesliga guarantees Champions' League football next
season, while Pere seems certain to nominate the Allianz Arena, should
Suarez seek his advice over choosing a new club in the summer.

Juventus have not given up on the
26-year-old Uruguayan, but there is an acceptance that they are up
against it, given the Guardiola family link and the amounts involved.

With prize money for a Champions'
League semi-final place estimated at 40million, senior figures at Juve
have calculated that they need to reach the last four, at least, to have
a realistic chance of financing a deal.

Bayern are standing in their way, in a
twist that should add extra spice to an eagerly-awaited quarter-final
showdown next month between the two biggest names in Italian and German
football.

Though Suarez has been installed as
Juve's priority target, coach Antonio Conte and director Beppe Marotta
have lined up Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez as an alternative, should
they lose out to Bayern or even Barca in the race for the top prize.

Liverpool still hope to hang on to
Suarez, but are mindful of his longing for Champions' League football
and wary of his agent's possible influence on what promises to be this
summer's most intriguing transfer battle.

Luis Suarez has warned Liverpool that he would consider any offers in the summer from clubs that can offer Champions League football.

German Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich and Italian giants Juventus head up the chase for Suarez, who has scored 29 goals in 40 appearances for Liverpool this season.

However, Brendan Rodgers' team have too often relied on Suarez's talents and lie in seventh place in the Barclays Premier League – in danger of missing out on European football altogether.

Suarez is under contract at Anfield until 2017, but did not rule out the idea of a big-money move at the end of the season.

'I am very happy at Liverpool but you never know in football,' Suarez said ahead of his international side's World Cup qualifier with Paraguay, as reported in the Liverpool Echo.

'If another team comes around with more prospects of competing in international club competition games, which is willing to have me, they are welcome.

'We would talk to the club, we would see if I want to go, if I don’t want to go.'

However, Suarez also recognised Liverpool's strengths, including manager Brendan Rodgers' footballing philosophy, which he hopes to see propel the club further next year.

Rodgers won plaudits for his Swansea side's passing style last season, and has attempted to implement the same structure at Anfield.

'A player’s ambition is always there, the ambition of wanting to play in elite teams is always there,' said Suarez.

'I’m in a world-class team, an elite team like Liverpool.

'We have to realise we have a new manager who is imposing a philosophy and a way of playing that the players are adapting to as best we can.

'We hope that it will bear fruit next year.'

Juventus have renewed their efforts to sign Liverpool forward Luis Suarez.

The Italian giants, who were interested in recruiting Suarez and Robin van Persie last summer, are in discussions with the Uruguayan's agent about a possible €30m (25.6m) transfer after their previous efforts ended when he extended his Liverpool contract until 2018.

Juve manager Antonio Conte, according to Sportmediaset, is thought to see Suarez as the ideal strike partner for the incoming Fernando Llorente and given the Spaniard is arriving for free has money to spend.

Director general Beppe Marotta confirmed at the weekend that Juve had ended their interest in re-signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic due to concerns over both his age and wage demands and Suarez, 26, would represent a considerably more affordable option.

Any approach for the Uruguay forward has the potential to seriously undermine the plans of Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, who this season has made good progress with his team and has done so largely by focusing on Suarez's talents.

Gareth Bale has been told he would be a great fit for Barcelona by the Catalan giants’ defender Gerard Pique.

Pique, who has made 29 appearances for Barca this season, said the La Liga leaders’ dressing room is always awash with talk of English football, and Bale is a hot topic.

Bale has scored ten goals in his last eight games for Tottenham, and will face fellow Player of the Year contender Luis Suarez when Spurs travel to Liverpool in the Premier League today.

And his stellar performances have caught the eye of Barcelona, where Pique is a huge admirer.

‘He is an unbelievable player, a great player – he has with all the conditions to play in the team that he wants to,’ Pique told the BBC.

‘He's doing a great job at Tottenham, and we will see. We want to have all the best players in our team.

‘It’s true that maybe, because he’s really quick and with the power he’s got, he fits a bit better at Real Madrid, but he can play here too definitely.

‘The best players can fit in any team, no matter the style.’

Pique, who re-joined boyhood club Barcelona from Manchester United in 2008, said the Premier League is also a reason to poke fun at one of his team-mates.

Liverpool fans worried about Luis Suarez departing for pastures new need fear no more.

The Uruguay striker has been linked with a 40million move to Bayern Munich at the end of the season.

But even if he does join Pep Guardiola in Germany, Liverpool look to be in safe hands. Step forward… Suso.

Potential: Suso showed why he might yet have plenty to offer Liverpool

The 19-year-old Spaniard has yet to make an impact in the Anfield first team but showed a glimpse of his undoubted potential for Liverpool's Under 21 side in their 1-1 draw with Southampton last night.

The Saints went in front thanks to Vegard Foren, the Norwegian defender who turned down a trial at Anfield to sign for the St Mary's club before Krisztian Adorjan rescued a point for the visitors.

P.S. This one's even better…

Reading are in deep relegation trouble and could do worse than look at their own Under 21 side for reinforcements.

Dominic Samuel has made just one appearance for the first XI and spent the start of this year on loan at League One Colchester.

But he showed he has plenty to offer with this stunning solo goal in the Royals' 3-0 win over Manchester City.

seeking a big-name striker to add to their squad.

Suarez's outstanding season continued at Wigan on Saturday as he netted a hat-trick in Liverpool's 4-0 win.

Tardelli admitted, though, that luring Liverpool's prized asset to Turin could be a step too far and Juve have been linked with moves for Barcelona's Alexis Sanchez and Fiorentina's Stevan Jovetic.

Tardelli told Tuttosport: 'It's obvious that a striker who scores 20 goals a season would be a good addition for any team. Good players are not cheap, though.'

'Suarez would be ideal due to his power, technique and directness, but I'd say signing him could be a complicated matter. (Gonzalo) Higuain could be a more realistic option.'

Juventus host Celtic in the second leg of their Champions League tie this week having won the first leg 3-0 in Glasgow.

Tardelli added: 'Teams like Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have something extra, but the Champions League is a strange competition.

'If Barcelona and Real Madrid are eliminated in this round, things are different for the other teams. And at that stage, Juventus could go far with their great organisation.'

Suarez's three-goal haul on Saturday took him to 21 Premier League goals for the season as he leapfrogged Robin van Persie in the race for the Golden Boot.

Liverpool's Europa League campaign ended on Thursday night despite a spirited effort in their attempt to score the four goals needed against Zenit to progress.

Jamie Carragher's error allowed Hulk to score a priceless away goal for the Russians in the 19th minute and give Liverpool a mountain to climb.

A free-kick from Luis Suarez followed by a goal from Joe Allen gave Liverpool a 2-1 lead at half-time, but they still needed two goals without response in the second half to progress.

But, despite Suarez scoring a second free-kick early in the second half, Liverpool couldn't force a fourth goal.
