After apologising for storming off at the Honda Classic and struggling to get to grips with his new set of clubs, it's hardly been a stellar start to the golf season for Rory McIlroy.

But the world No 1 golfer's girlfriend, Caroline Wozniacki, has hit some fine form in this steamy photo shoot.

The 22-year-old tennis star, who was beaten by Maria Sharapova in the BNP Paribas Open final last week, has been in solid form on the court this year.

But now she's attracting attention outside the white lines too.

The former world No 1 has teamed up with Danish company JBS to launch her own line of underwear – and posed for a series of raunchy shots to promote her new product.

The new range Wozniacki has launched has been called 'this is me'.

Fans at the crunch game between Pachuca and Cruz Azul in the Mexican league on Saturday could have been forgiven for finding the majority of the match disappointing after the third minute.

Not only did Pachuca midfielder Angel Reyna score a wonder-strike, he celebrated with a bizarre WWE-style wrestling move on teammate Dario Carreno.

Reyna let the ball bounce before unleashing a fearsome right-footed strike into the top-right hand corner of helpless Cruz Azul keeper Jose Corona’s goal.

A goal so spectacular deserved a celebration to match and Reyna didn’t disappoint, wrapping his ankles around Carreno’s head before spinning round, flipping his teammate over.

Although the move looked dangerous, Reyna’s victim clearly wasn’t hurt, jumping straight back up and to join in with the celebrations.

It is unknown which stunt Reyna will pull after his next goal, but his team had a lot to celebrate, beating their rivals 2-1.

Wilfried Zaha enhanced his reputation with a stunning goal but Crystal Palace were pegged back by Huddersfield in an incident-filled match.

Arsenal and Manchester United are rumoured to be lining up January bids for the young England winger, and he bumped up his price tag by firing Palace into the lead in style.

But a goalkeeping error by Julian
Speroni allowed Keith Southern to claim his first goal for Huddersfield
as the visitors snatched a draw.

It was harsh on Speroni, who kept
Palace in the game in the first half after they were reduced to 10 men
when Damien Delaney was sent off after only 10 minutes.

The Argentinian, a survivor from the
last time Palace were in the Premier league seven years ago, pulled off
a string of fine saves including a penalty from Adam Clayton.

But his second-half blunder gifted Huddersfield a point as Palace slipped to third in the npower Championship.

Huddersfield also ended the match with 10 men after Anthony Gerrard saw red late on.

Speroni was straight in the thick of
the action when he dived to his right to keep out Jermaine Beckford's
header after just two minutes.

The Eagles were dealt a huge blow eight minutes later when defender Delaney was sent off for a foul on Beckford.

Palace, now a man down, should have
also been a goal down 10 minutes later when Joel Ward pulled down former
Selhurst winger Sean Scannell in the area.

Clayton stepped up to take the penalty but his weak effort was comfortably saved by Speroni, low to his right. Moments later Speroni was at it again, superbly turning away Beckford's point-blank shot from Scannell's cross.

Huddersfield were well on top but
they came close to gifting Palace the lead when Jack Hunt's pass back to
goalkeeper Alex Smithies was intercepted by Glenn Murray.

The 20-goal striker rounded Smithies but found the angle too tight and rolled his effort across goal.

And having weathered the early storm, the 10 men took the lead in style with seven minutes of the first half remaining.

Yannick Bolasie robbed Oliver Norwood
on the right-hand corner of the penalty area and slipped in Zaha with
an extravagant backheel.

Zaha charged into the box, sidestepped Hunt and lashed an unstoppable shot into the roof of Smithies' net.

In first-half stoppage time Clayton almost atoned for his penalty miss with a 20-yard curler but Speroni clawed his effort away.

However, for all Speroni's heroics
before the break he was badly at fault as Huddersfield grabbed the
softest of equalisers in the 74th minute.

Palace half-cleared a corner and Southern, lurking just inside the area, helped the ball back towards goal.

Beckford was standing in front of
Speroni but the keeper had no excuse for allowing the ball to squirm out
of his hands, through his legs and into the net.

Referee Graham Scott levelled up the numbers with 10 minutes left when he showed Gerrard a red card for a lunge on Bolassie.

Mile Jedinak went closest for Palace in the second half but his drive flew over as the hosts had to settle for a point.

Adel Taarabt goal was excellent, but Matthew Le Tissier scored goals like that regularly

Why the fuss over Taarabt Le Tissier performed magic like that week in, week out for Saints

|

UPDATED:

16:19 GMT, 17 December 2012

There is a lot about Adel Taarabt which brings back memories of the heyday of Matt Le Tissier.

He's languid, a touch lazy, and must be incredibly frustrating for teammates to play with – that is until he produces moments of audacious genius such as his finish on Saturday.

It began with a burst of energy as he brought the ball under control, a sublime dummy and then that instinctive perfectly placed finish.

Yes, it was all very Le Tissier. But to
truly bare comparisons to the South Coast legend Taarabt is going to
have to repeat his wonder goal time and again for a series of seasons.

For that is what Le Tiss did – practically single-handedly keeping Saints in the top flight for a decade – and he dominated the goal of the season charts, particularly in 1993 and 1994.

I can’t hear the song Life of Riley by the Lightening Seeds (which was Match of the Day's goal of the month music in the mid-nineties) without remembering Le Tiss's flick up and volley from a free kick against Wimbledon, the loop over two players heads and then a delicate finish against Newcastle, a swerving strike against Forest, and, my favourite, the 35 yard belter against Blackburn.

And there were many more, most notably a volley against Arsenal in the final game at The Dell.

On top of that he had a remarkable record from the penalty spot – only failing to score once in 48 attempts.

Master: Le Tissier regularly scored cracking goals for Southampton

Master: Le Tissier regularly scored cracking goals for Southampton

He seemed to have a hand in almost every goal Saints scored. There were times his talent drove fans to despair. For someone who could see and supply passes only a handful of others could match, he hung on to the ball for an eternity.

Some would call his never-ending flicks, tricks and dummies mesmerising, others would sigh at why he didn’t just play the simple pass.

When his inspiration went missing and Saints fell behind, his sloth-like demeanour was frustrating.

But Le Tissier scored 210 goals for Southampton – all of them in the top flight, and for a club which rarely finished in the upper half of the table.
Only when Taarabt can match this, will his talents ever truly match the man Saints fans call Le God.

Lionel Messi scored two goals for the seventh consecutive match he has started to help Barcelona strike a potentially decisive blow in the La Liga title race.

The Catalan giants romped to a 4-1 victory at home to second-placed Atletico Madrid to move nine points clear at the top.

Defending champions Real Madrid are 13 points behind after they were surprisingly held to a 2-2 draw at home by lowly Espanyol.

Tito Vilanova's unbeaten leaders fought back after Radamel Falcao gave Atletico a deserved lead with the cutest of finishes.

It was the least the visitors deserved for an impressive start in which they caused problems on the break, an approach which yielded the opener, the Colombian's 17th of the season.

Five minutes later, Barca were back in the game thanks to a thunderous shot from Adriano, who cut in from the right flank and fired in off the underside of the crossbar.

Atletico were struggling to break out of the area before halftime, and when they failed to clear a corner, Busquets calmly stroked home the second.

After the break, Messi slotted a third into the corner and then pounced on an error at the end for his 25th in La Liga and 90th for club and country in 2012.

Earlier, Espanyol substitute Juan Albin stunned Real with an 88th-minute equaliser as the Barcelona-based side grabbed an unlikely draw at the Bernabeu.

The Uruguayan forward bundled the ball in after Real failed to clear a corner, and whistles rang around the ground as the teams filed off the pitch at the end.

Karim Benzema was left in the stands with an ankle injury, and Cristiano Ronaldo started in the centre-forward position, but for all their possession Real struggled in the first half.

Visiting striker Sergio Garcia, a Euro 2008 winner with Spain, sprinted clear to net past Iker Casillas in the 31st minute.

Luka Modric crashed a shot against the post, but just as the Bernabeu was getting restless Sami Khedira crossed and Ronaldo stuck out a foot to level in the 45th minute.

Ronaldo's reverse pass picked out Fabio Coentrao's driving run, and the Portugal defender put Real ahead with his first league goal for the club, soon after the re-start.

A fingertip save and the woodwork prevented a quick third for Real, but Espanyol continued to threaten and Albin made them pay for failing to finish off the job.

Early goals from Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski put the Gunners in control, just as they had been in their Champions League game at Schalke on Tuesday night, only for the Germans to fight back.

It was a similar story again this
afternoon as Fulham rallied after Dimitar Berbatov reduced the deficit
and it was no surprise when Alex Kacaniklic levelled before half-time.

The visitors then went ahead from the penalty spot when Berbatov slotted home after Mikel Arteta had fouled Brian Ruiz.

Although Giroud quickly levelled at
3-3, the Gunners could not find a winner – but were then awarded a
penalty in stoppage-time for handball, only for Fulham keeper Mark
Schwarzer to produce a brilliant stop from Arteta's low effort.

'It was frustrating because we had
the opportunities to win. We were caught in a bit too comfortable of a
position because we did the most difficult thing – we scored two goals
to go 2-0 up. At that moment we lacked urgency defensively,' said
Wenger.

'In the second half we gave
absolutely everything and I have to give credit to the players, in the
last three games what they have done physically is amazing.

'Even at 3-2 down we didn't give up and continued to go forward and we had the chances to win the game.'

Wenger, though, refused to lambast vice-captain Arteta for not dispatching the last-gasp spot-kick.

'You cannot blame Arteta for that. It is part of the game. Who hasn't missed a penalty” the Arsenal boss said.

'The positives are that we can score
goals now. The negatives are to concede three goals at home of course,
and the chances we gave away, defensively it wasn't an historical
performance.'

Wenger added: 'I feel where we are
most guilty is on the corner [for the first Fulham goal] because you are
2-0 up, it can happen with Berbatov who is good, he can create chances -
but nobody jumped for the ball at all, we just let them score the
goal.'

Wenger denied Arsenal were suffering from a lack of confidence.

WALCOTT DOUBTFUL FOR ENGLAND

Theo Walcott could be forced to miss out on England's clash with Sweden next week after picking up a knock during this afternoon's draw.

The Arsenal forward was replaced by Andrey Arshavin with six minutes remaining.

Cottagers boss Martin Jol admitted he had 'so many mixed feelings' about the final result of such a dramatic encounter.

Arsenal 3 Fulham 3: More woe for Wenger as profligate Gunners waste two-goal lead

Arsenal blew a two-goal lead for the second time in a week as Fulham battled to a 3-3 draw at Emirates Stadium, where Mark Schwarzer saved a penalty in stoppage-time.

Although Giroud quickly levelled at
3-3, the Gunners could not find a winner – but were then awarded a

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger admitted
the atmosphere had been 'flat' at Emirates Stadium for the last two home
games, and challenged his team to lift the fans with an all-action
display this afternoon.

However, it was Fulham who showed early promise as Ruiz's 20-yard effort was deflected wide.

Theo Walcott, retained in the starting XI after his European goal, looked lively down the right channel.

Arsenal took the lead after 11
minutes. Walcott delivered a corner into the six-yard box, where Giroud
powered in his second headed goal of the week.

Fulham were then forced into a change
when Kieran Richardson pulled up with what looked like a hamstring
injury and Kacaniklic came on.

Arsenal then doubled their lead after
23 minutes. Arteta drove into the right side of the penalty area and
pulled a low cross back through the six-yard box, where Podolski got
ahead of his marker to stab the ball past Schwarzer.

Fulham, though, halved the deficit
after 28 minutes when Berbatov nodded home with a free header from a
corner. Arsenal's confidence was dented and the hosts failed to recover,
losing the midfield battle.

It was no real surprise to see Fulham level five minutes before the break.

Berbatov strolled down the right
channel and effortlessly floated a lovely ball back over to Kacaniklic,
who dispatched a header into the bottom corner past the diving Vito
Mannone.

Fulham almost went ahead in stoppage
time when John Arne Riise's low centre from the left went straight
across through the six-yard box.

The visitors started the second with
intent. Walcott, though, continued to provide Arsenal's threat down the
right, and his cross was just too high for Giroud.

The England forward then took the ball
on himself from the halfway line and driving forwards before firing a
curling shot just over the top-left angle.

Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey replaced
Francis Coquelin. Arsenal were pushing Fulham deeper, if without really
stretching the visitors' defence.

Fulham midfielder Steve Sidwell, who
had been cautioned in the first half, upended Santi Cazorla 25 yards
out, but was given a final warning by lenient referee Phil Dowd.

The official, however, got it right a
few minutes later when Ruiz robbed Arteta on the right side of the
penalty area and was pulled back by the Spaniard.

Berbatov confidently sent Mannone the wrong way from the spot to turn the match on its head after 67 minutes.

The drama was not over yet, though, as Arsenal quickly levelled.

Giroud's shot came back off the post
and Walcott send the rebound into the six-yard box, where the France
striker guided a cushioned header over Schwarzer to make it 3-3.

As Arsenal pressed forwards, Fulham
were dangerous on the break and it needed a brilliant last-gasp tackle
from Laurent Koscielny to deny Berbatov a clear shot on goal.

With 15 minutes left, Podolski was
replaced by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who had been out since the defeat
at Norwich with a hip problem.

Schwarzer pushed behind a goal-bound
effort from Giroud, before both sides made another change as Walcott,
who looked to have picked up an injury which could rule him out of
England duty next week, was replaced by Andrey Arshavin and Damien Duff
came on for Ashkan Dejagah.

Arsenal pressed for the winner during the closing stages, but Giroud could only plant his free header wide.

However, there was more drama in stoppage time when Arshavin's cross hit Sascha Riether on the arm and Dowd pointed to the spot.

Arteta struck his shot well enough
towards the bottom right corner, but Schwarzer – once an Arsenal
transfer target – produced a brilliant save at full stretch to earn the
Cottagers a share of the spoils in the final action of an entertaining
encounter.

Ellie Simmonds underlined why she is one of the stars of the London 2012 Paralympics as she shocked herself with a new world record in the heats of the SM6 200 metres individual medley.

The 17-year-old has already set a new world mark in the S6 400m freestyle en route to a successful defence of her Paralympic title on Saturday.

On Monday morning she produced a blistering freestyle leg to make her rivals appear as if they were treading water to touch in three minutes 06.97 seconds, 1.13secs inside her own world mark from March when she became the first swimmer to set a global record in the Aquatics Centre.

The Swansea-based swimmer was completely taken aback and a second gold medal is a clear possibility.

Simmonds said: 'I wasn't going for a world record, I was actually going for the Paralympic record but I was just going in there to feel the stroke.

'When I walk out the crowd is amazing, that definitely gives me a big buzz. I just can't wait to race tonight.

'I am quite shocked with that time. When I was at the finish I couldn't actually see what (the time) was, I had to ask someone.

'I'm really pleased with a two-second PB in the heats. It's good to be on top form at the biggest Paralympic Games of my life.'

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has warned European hero Ryan Taylor he may have to be patient as he attempts to force his way into the team.

The utility man was handed a start at left-back against Atromitos in Greece on Thursday evening and produced a trademark free-kick to ensure the Magpies return to Tyneside for the second leg of their Europa League play-off unbeaten and with a potentially valuable away goal to their name.

However, Taylor could still find himself sitting on the bench at Chelsea on Saturday evening as Newcastle return to Barclays Premier League action having rested nine senior men in Athens.

Pardew said: 'When we trained here on Wednesday night, he [Taylor] hit three or four better than the one he scored with.

'I should think in the Premier League, there are not too many players at dead balls who have the accuracy of Ryan.

'He is desperate to play in the first team, but he has got some good performances from Saturday's game against Tottenham in front of him, so he has got to be patient.

'When he gets his chance, what more can he do He played very well – and hopefully there are a few more of those, please.'

Taylor's sweet strike, which came a year and three days after he established himself as a Geordie hero by firing the Magpies to victory at Sunderland, dragged his side back on to level terms two minutes into first-half injury time.

He struck from 25 yards with a viciously curling free-kick after midfielder Matias Iglesias had been pulled up for a rugby tackle on Dan Gosling.

But until that point, the visitors had looked distinctly second best, with German midfielder Denis Epstein having made the most of full-back James Tavernier's inexperience to fire Atromitos into a 24th-minute lead.

However, Newcastle gradually got to grips with the game, which was played out in energy-sapping heat at the Peristeri Stadium, and might have won it through substitutes Romain Amalfitano and Adam Campbell, the latter of whom set a new club record as the youngest player to figure in a European game at the age of 17 years and 236 days.

Newcastle celebrates Taylor's strike

Pardew said: 'Our pre-season prep, you could argue, served us well because they let us have possession for long periods of the game, and we moved the ball and made them work really hard and took the sting out of the game a little bit.

'In the second half, I was a little bit disappointed we didn't get the win – I thought there were good opportunities – but overall, I was very, very pleased with the performance.'

Newcastle will head into the second leg as favourites to go progress, but Pardew knows they can take nothing for granted.

He said: 'They [Atromitos] have shown us tonight that it's not going to be a pushover and it's not going to be a foregone conclusion, so we have got to be right and we have got to make sure that the team is strong enough.

'But that team I fielded tonight, I thought we got it just about right, and now we have got to get next Thursday right.

'If we are taking an away goal into the home leg, we would be favourites – but we are the favourites when we play at home whoever we are playing, in my opinion, so we have got to win the game.'

Opposite number Dusan Bajevic knows his side's task is difficult, but he was in no mood to concede defeat.

He said: 'We cannot say we are going for the win, but we are not going there to be defeated either.

'Newcastle are the favourites, but that does not mean we are going to out put hands up and surrender.'
