A scan on Cesc Fabregas's hamstring
injury has shown 'very satisfactory results' but he will still miss
Spain's final Euro 2012 warm-up match against China on Saturday, the
Spanish football federation said on Friday.

Fabregas picked up the injury when he
came on for the last 10 minutes of Barcelona's 3-0 King's Cup final win
over Athletic Bilbao last week and will train alone as he bids to
regain full fitness.

'Medical tests have been successful, very happy with the evolution,' Fabregas wrote on Twitter.

Manchester City have boosted their squad by signing a young Austrian midfielder and handing trials to two Hungarian twins.

City snapped up 17-year-old Sinan Bytyqi from Austrian side Admira Wacker and has impressed for their youth side.

'In the foreseeable future we had looked to integrate him in our side, and getting your own players in your side is always admirable,' general manager Alex Friedl said.

'Of course there is mixed feelings about such a great player but we have made this decision in the interest of the development of the player who expressed his desire to meet with Manchester City and he found a satisfactory solution.'

City have also taken 16-year-old Bobal twins Gergely and David on trial and they arrived on Monday.

Both play for Honved in Budapest, Gergely is a striker and David is a central defender.

'We caught their eye in the Under-17 European qualifiers about three weeks ago,' Gergely told Nemzeti Sport.

'We’ll stay (in England) until Saturday and I will try to show my abilities with David.

'This was a sign for me that one shouldn’t jump the steps as a footballer but you have to go further step by step.

'If I’m not successful with this trial I won’t be unhappy but it was a chance you must take and try yourself.'

West Brom head coach Roy Hodgson wants to resolve the long-term future of key defender Jonas Olsson sooner rather than later.

Hodgson is desperate to keep the Swede, who only has 15 months remaining on his current deal.

He has opened talks over a new deal and Hodgson is keen for the Sweden international to commit himself to the Baggies.

Hodgson said: 'Jonas will be entering the last year of his contract next year and no club really wants that to happen with the players they are anxious to keep.

'Albion and myself are anxious to keep Jonas. I can only hope the negotiations he and his advisor are having now with the club will be brought to a satisfactory conclusion.

'Talks are ongoing. We are not panicking he will walk out of the door in May, but the sooner the talks reach a conclusion, the better it is for everyone.

'It is nice to know what players you can rely upon when you are planning for the future.'

Hodgson is hoping Olsson can enjoy the fruits of his labours after helping Albion establish themselves in the Barclays Premier League.

He said: 'We think Jonas is a good player who has been here a few years, understands what we are about and plays a big part in helping us to achieve our goal.

'He deserves an awful lot of credit for what he has done so far. I think it would be nice if he could enjoy a couple of years enjoying the fruits of his work here.

'Part of his work has been getting us back into the Premier League but then it's been fighting hard at the bottom to keep us there.

'Maybe he could be looking ahead now, if the club is looking forward, to a few years where he can consider himself a bona fide Premier League player in a bona fide Premier League team.'
