FIFA will decide whether to punish Luis Suarez once they have received the referee's report from Uruguay's clash with Chile.

The Liverpool striker was caught on television throwing a punch at Chile's Gonzalo Jara but Nestor Pitana, the match official, took no action, having spoken with the pair after they had jostled at a corner.

If found guilty of violent conduct, Suarez would face a suspension but FIFA will not make any decisions until they have received all the necessary paperwork.

A FIFA spokesman said: 'We are still collecting all the post-match reports, as the referees have 24 hours to file them. Based on the mentioned reports, FIFA will then act accordingly.'

Suarez is already facing an international suspension after he was booked late in the game against Chile for dissent. He will miss Urugay's next qualifier against Venezuela in June, which works in Liverpool's favour as he will be able to have a proper break before pre-season training in July.

Meanwhile, Jamie Carragher has underlined the importance of Liverpool's final nine games in the Barclays Premier League when he said the club 'needs' European football to preserve their reputation.

Carragher, who is fit for Sunday's trip to Aston Villa after missing the 3-1 defeat at Southampton with a calf problem, said: 'Liverpool is synonymous with European football. We are a big name in European football and we always need to be there.

'The manager (Brendan Rodgers) will have been brooding since the defeat at Southampton and this game at Villa is very important.'

Roy Hodgson's agent has been fined and warned by FIFA for breaking regulations over the transfer of goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes to Tottenham.

Leon Angel, who is based in London, was found guilty of two breaches of the regulations and fined 4,800.

Hodgson negotiated his England contract with the Football Association but Angel has carried out accountancy work with him previously.

Wrongdoing: The deal to take Heurelho Gomes from PSV was under scrutiny

The violations related to Gomes' move from PSV Eindhoven in July 2008 and was referred by the FA to FIFA in June 2011.

FIFA said in a statement: 'FIFA also informed Mr Angel that a further breach of the players' agents regulations will result in more severe sanctions to be determined by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, which can lead to a suspension or even a withdrawal of the players' agent licence.'

The first regulation breached refers to having a 'relevant written representation contract with that player or club', and the second requires that 'every players' agent shall ensure that his name, signature and the name of his client appear in any contracts resulting from transactions in which he is involved'.

Angel insists however that it was an administrative oversight by a Brazilian agent, and that he was not responsible for the paperwork.

He told Press Association Sport: 'It is a technical breach on an administrative matter and we are appealing against it to CAS.

'It's actually nothing to do with us – the transfer was performed by a Brazilian agent who did not fill in a form.'

The 25-year-old arrived in Wales on Monday to wrap up his move from the La Liga side, with a permanent transfer earmarked for this summer.

Lamah is highly-rated in Belgium, where he has been capped at every level from Under 19s upwards, and can line up on the left of an attacking three or as a striker.

But despite his reputation he has struggled in La Liga this season, scoring only two goals in 15 games. Eight of his appearance came from the bench.

A clause in the deal – the paperwork of which is expected to be completed on Tuesday – states that Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins will have first refusal on a permanent move for the 2million-rated player if he impresses at the Liberty Stadium.

Carlos Tevez unveiled an arresting

with a 5-0 victory over Aston Villa.

Tevez marked his two goals at the Etihad Stadium by poking fun at having his 100,000 Porsche towed away by police last week.

The Argentine was left stranded on
Thursday when he was pulled over on suspicion of not holding a valid UK
driving licence and had to be collected later by his wife.

He is still driving with an international licence, despite being told 12 months ago that he needed to change it for a valid UK licence.

The Argentina striker was then forced to watch on as they loaded his car on to the back of a tow-truck.

Manchester
City officials are helping him with the necessary paperwork, but in the

But with Manchester United crashing to a 1-0 defeat at Norwich last night, City look firmly in the driving seat as they bid to defend their title.

Tevez netted his first brace of the season as City overcame a sluggish start to stretch their unbeaten home run to 36 games.

He scored his side's third and fifth goals and celebrated on both occasions by pretending to drive his impounded vehicle.

Last season he greeted a hat-trick against Norwich by swinging an imaginary golf club after returning from exile in Argentina, where he had been spotted playing golf instead of turning out for City.

His next challenge will be to steer City to Champions League success against Real Madrid on Wednesday, a result that might just keep them in the competition.

The stumbling block is not expected to completely scupper the deal as a fresh offer will be drawn up in January.

Juve turned their attention to Bendtner after missing out on Manchester United's Dimitar Berbatov.

Sporting director, Beppe Marotta told Sky Sport Italia: 'Bendtner is already in Italy and will undergo a medical.

'Until the final paperwork is concluded, I will not say that the player is ours.

'He has talent and ability. Potentially a great player, one that has almost never been able to prove it.'

The 24-year-old joined Arsenal in 2005 and will be offloaded for around 5million.
