Djibril Cisse and QPR returned to winning ways this weekend but the French striker scored a big own goal in the fashion stakes last night.

Cisse, who was back in training at Rangers' Harlington HQ first thing today, turned up to Will.i.am's party in central London with his rumoured squeeze Chloe Green.

The QPR striker, who was dressed a little bit like Michael Jackson in his heyday, attended the launch party alongside the Topshop heiress even though the pair have denied their romance.

They even turned up in matching leather outfits last night, though Green managed to pull the look off slightly more successfully than the former Liverpool and Sunderland star.

Cisse, who has scored three goals this season, had reason to celebrate after QPR recorded their first win of the season against Fulham on Saturday.

So far this season has been the worst in the club’s history but two goals from Adel Taarabt put an end to their terrible run in a 2-1 triumph.

Meanwhile, Cisse's manager Harry Redknapp offered Taarabt some home truths ahead of Saturday's crucial first win.

‘I took him off last week (against Wigan) and he wasn’t in the best of moods,' Redknapp revealed. 'He didn’t behave in the best of ways so I had a good chat with him in the office on Monday morning. He’s responded to that.

‘I didn’t put my arm around him, I didn’t call him in and say: 'Oh, come on'. I was disappointed with one or two things when I took him off last week, he had the hump on the bench and all that.

‘So we sorted that out. I said to him, don’t throw your arms up when you lose the ball, don’t stand with your hands on your hips and don’t put your hands on your head, just get after the ball if you lose it otherwise everyone sees that you made a mistake and it gets highlighted.

‘He did that on Saturday and he was fantastic. He can be a top, top player. He’s got ability like not many people you’ve ever seen in your life.’

QPR want Robbie Keane on loan from LA Galaxy

Harry targets old pal Keane in loan deal to help boost QPR's goal-shy strikeforce

QPR manager Harry Redknapp wants to bring in Robbie Keane on loan in January to bolster his attack.

Rangers have scored just 11 goals in 15 Premier League games this season and remain bottom of the table without a win.

Long-term injuries to Bobby Zamora and Andrew Johnson have left Redknapp desperately short of strikers, with only Djibril Cisse and Jamie Mackie available, and Keane could be available until the start of the American soccer season in March.

The 32-year-old scored three goals in seven games for Aston Villa in a similar arrangement at the beginning of this year.

Keane, whom Redknapp managed at Tottenham, shone in his first full season with LA Galaxy, scoring 22 goals in 34 games and winning his second MLS Cup in David Beckham’s final game in the USA last week.

Redknapp said: ‘I think the MLS is a market we’ve got to look at. Robbie’s a good shout.

‘I haven’t spoken to him yet but he would be an interesting player. He’s a good pro and he would be the ideal type to have around for sure because he would give us something. Goal-scoring’s a knack and Robbie had a good season, scored goals and did well.’

Redknapp, whose side travel to Wigan on Saturday hoping for their first away win in the league for 13 months, will meet QPR chairman Tony Fernandes in person next week for the first time since taking over from Mark Hughes.

The Rangers boss said: ‘I think they are genuinely caring people and they deserve some success. They’ve had a go haven’t they They’ve spent money in the summer and they’ve ended up struggling.

‘If we can find one or two players that can make the difference in January then it could really kick start us and get us going.

‘But we need a couple of results before then. We can’t keep getting cut too far adrift.’

Stoke 1 QPR 0: Adam piles more pressure on Hughes as Rangers lose away again

|

UPDATED:

Charlie Adam's first goal for Stoke earned his side all three points against QPR to further increase the pressure on Mark Hughes.

Midfielder Adam, a summer signing from Liverpool, opened his Potters account in the 52nd minute at the Britannia Stadium, tucking the ball away after it had been nodded his way by Jon Walters from a free-kick.

It proved enough to see off QPR, for whom Adel Taarabt failed to convert a good opportunity in the first half.

Esteban Granero brought an excellent
save out of Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic after Adam's goal, but the
visitors could not find the equaliser which was the very least they
needed.

They are still without a win in the
Barclays Premier League this term in a sequence that now extends to 11
matches, and have sunk back to the foot of the table.

The heat is truly on their manager
Hughes, while his opposite number Tony Pulis will be relieved to see his
side – up to 12th – register what was only their second win of the
campaign.

Both teams looked eager to make an
early impression and after QPR full-back Jose Bosingwa had lashed high
and wide and Djibril Cisse miscued an attempted volley from an Armand
Traore cross, Adam's shot from outside the area deflected wide at the
other end.

The visitors were first to really
settle into a rhythm and Stoke skipper Ryan Shawcross made a couple of
good interceptions, one with his legs to block a Junior Hoilett strike
and another with his head to clear Granero's floated delivery aimed for
Cisse.

A succession of poorly executed
attempts on goal followed, with QPR's Alejandro Faurlin and Stoke's
Peter Crouch similarly skewing well off-target before the latter's
knock-down was sent over the bar on the turn by Walters.

In the 26th minute Granero tried to
dink the ball over the onrushing Begovic, but it only found the
side-netting thanks to a combination of the goalkeeper and Matthew
Etherington, who picked up an injury and received treatment before
playing on.

Stoke enjoyed a period on top, with
Walters nodding wide from a sweeping Geoff Cameron pass and Crouch then
seeing his shot go just the wrong side of the other post having taken a
nick off a QPR man.

It was the away side who passed up one
of the best chances yet to open the scoring just before the interval,
though, when the Potters gave away possession.

QPR broke forward and Hoilett squared to Taarabt, who wastefully chipped the ball over.

Looking to make amends, Taarabt drove a further effort towards goal moments later which flashed wide.

The Rs fans in the stadium might well
have been looking forward to the second period with considerable

Robert Huth's free-kick from the left
was flicked on by Walters, and with QPR failing to react the ball
bounced past Crouch and through to Adam, who slammed it home.

The visitors swiftly went in search of
a response and Begovic had to be alert to tip over a deflected shot
from Taarabt, who then twice dragged the ball across goal from useful
positions.

The Moroccan did better in the 70th minute to set up Granero, whose strike brought a great save out of Begovic.

The leveller would not come for the
west London side, though, and they might have finished with a heavier
defeat had Julio Cesar not done well to get down to deny substitute
Michael Kightly in the closing stages.

HERE'S BOBBY! GLUM ZAMORA GETS CHANCE TO SHINE

Bobby Zamora

Mark Hughes was desperate for a win to alleviate a little pressure.

Queens Park Rangers have failed to win a league game this season and, after losing their third in five on Saturday, find themselves rooted to the bottom of the table.

After Stoke's Charlie Adam broke the deadlock in the second half, Rangers improved their play and pressed for an equaliser, to no avail.

Hughes turned to Bobby Zamora (right), a man who earlier this week said confessed to falling out of love with football.

Zamora told the Mail on Sunday last week: 'For so many years football has been your life and it’s all everyone wants to talk about, everywhere you go.

'I don’t like talking about it. I’m not a massive football fan, really. Quite a lot more players than let on are the same.

'I don’t watch games on an evening or anything like that. A lot of people find it strange [that I don’t like football].

'I’m not sure what I want to do after I finish playing but if it means watching football then I don’t want to get involved.'

Alejandro Faurlin was the man to make way, and Zamora had all of eleven minutes to try to turn things round for QPR.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the former Tottenham and Fulham striker made little impact and failed to grab that crucial goal to salvage a point for Hughes and QPR.

QPR hitman Djibril Cisse dressed to kill as Morpheus from the Matrix

He's no Cisse… QPR hitman dressed to kill as Morpheus from the Matrix

Queens Park Rangers have no wins but still hope in the shape of dangerman Djibril Cisse as they fight for Premier League survival.

The France striker has scored twice this season for Mark Hughes' side – including Sunday's crucial equaliser against fellow strugglers Reading. And now the 31-year-old has posed up as Morpheus from the Matrix movie series to highlight his hitman credentials.

Cisse, who has played 41 times for France, has a keen eye for fashion – take a look at the Colin Young feature below.

He's pictured here (above) wearing clothing from the Trapstar x Hitman collaboration, a clothing range to promote video game Hitman: Absolution, which is released on November 20.

THE DAY I WAS TURNED INTO A CISSE, BY SPORTSMAIL'S COLIN YOUNG (original report: 2009)

The phone goes. It's the boss. 'Djibril Cisse owns a fashion shop. We
want you to go down there and get him to dress you, let him bling you up
a bit.'

Now, I have seen Djibril Cisse's wedding photos – red suit, matching
trilby, shiny white shoes – and I have seen him turn up for training in
his 'casual' attire. When you see him, you have to stand back and take
in the view.

Colin Young

Before: Colin Young, smart Sportsmail reporter.

Colin Young

After: Colin Young, king of bling.

No wonder, then, that the call from the sports desk left them
chuckling and me with a heavy heart. I knew friends and colleagues would
find the resulting photographs extremely amusing – although my
mortified children and wife might not. And it may have taken him some
time to fix up a meeting, but Cisse, then of Sunderland, was up for it, too.

So to
the unscrupulous member of the Sunderland press office who has
distributed these disturbing images, and to my colleagues who have
threatened me with blackmail and claim I'm committing professional
suicide, I say this: I care not. Cisse liked the cut of my Djib.

Cisse's
shop is called The Pr9ject – the '9' represents his shirt number at
Sunderland – and he has taken the brave decision to base it in a row of
modern units in Newcastle's Forth Street, behind Central Station,
opposite The Telegraph pub.

The France international is a
frequent visitor to the shop, which is run on a daily basis by manager
Emmy Offiong. 'His schedule at this time of the season means he is in
less,' she said. 'But he is very hands-on, he is always very relaxed and
calm, loves meeting and talking to the customers, making suggestions,
putting clothes back on the hangers and marking the prices.'

Djibril Cisse

Cap that: Djibril Cisse is sceptical about the headgear…

And as if to demonstrate the point, Cisse helped Emmy choose the
outfits to 'model'. The first ensemble is meant to be a casual look to
replace a working suit. So here we go . . .

The star of the
show is the Hype Means Nothing T-shirt, 55, with a picture of rapper
Kanye West on the front. This Paris-based label, which also features
similar shots of Barack Obama, Britney Spears, Marilyn Monroe and
Charlie Chaplin, is currently flying off the racks in Pr9ject and the
boutique is one of the few in the country to stock it.

This
outfit was completed by white Front trainers (40), black Qhuit jeans
(70) and a black zip-up top by Amalguessous which comes in at 440.

When
myself and photographer Graham Chadwick spotted a Marvel Comics jacket,
with similar baseball cap, I just had to try it on. Cisse – who was
dressed in black adidas tracksuit and a Homer Simpson T-shirt he had
bought in America – looked distinctly unimpressed.

And no wonder. I looked like a cross between Timmy Mallett and Kevin The Teenager.

Cisse's
disapproving 'tut' echoed round the shop. 'Never to the side,' he says,
making me shift the large cap almost over my eyes. 'That was the
Eighties.' Which, in fairness, is probably the last time I wore a
baseball cap.

Colin Young

…while Young rules out a 3,000 pair of trainers…

Colin Young

…and provides comic relief in the Marvel jacket.

The brief for the second outfit was to find clothes which offered a
more colourful insight into the wares on sale in Pr9ject. Cisse – and
Emmy in particular – went to town, coming up with an outfit which would
have given me little change from 1,300.

Even then she spared
me the 3,000 trainers, a copy of a pair recently purchased by Obafemi
Martins' agent, and instead paraded me in the gold, yes gold, Supra
trainers (95) which are the most popular shoes in the shop.

The
outrageous Red Monkey jeans really caught the eye, but then that is
probably the intention at 699. These are handmade denim, can never be
washed, only steam-cleaned, and they eventually mould to the shape of
your legs. When I popped down to see Cisse, he was very impressed. It
was only a slight nod in my direction, but it was good enough for me.

Nothing
will ever convince me to buy the Christian Audigier T-shirt, and it was
not just the 420 price label which put me off. American rap stars,
actors or presidents yes, garish colours in Extra Large, I don't think
so.

Colin Young

Looking good, Mr Y…

After us, Cisse's next appointment was to meet 'a friend' from the
Hype Means Nothing range at the station. And, with true Cisse
extravagance, he climbed into his enormous blue Rolls-Royce and drove
the full half-mile round the one-way system to fetch his colleague.

So
why does a millionaire footballer spend his time and money on a venture
which could, if Sunderland fail to offer him a permanent deal, be
holding a closing-down sale at the end of May

'It is to show
the way I see clothes and fashion to the people,' said Cisse. 'It is a
different style but it is what I like and my advice to people would be
to just come and look, see if they see something. If they don't . . .'
Another shrug of the shoulders.

'The boutique is something
I've had planned for a while. I come in after training for a few hours
if I can, have a mooch around, help out a bit and go back home.

'We
have items here you will not find anywhere else. The idea is
exclusivity and something different. If there was one word for it, it is
different.'

Colin Young and Djibril Cisse

If the shirt fits: Cisse offers a helping hand to his less than willing model…

Kick it out protest is damaging for campaign – Neil Ashton

Neil Ashton: Player protests cause damaging divisions in the game

|

UPDATED:

00:09 GMT, 22 October 2012

On Friday night the mobile phones of players across the country were buzzing as they swapped text messages: Who is in and who is out

Rio Ferdinand’s decision to abandon the Kick It Out campaign, in direct contravention of Sir Alex Ferguson’s instructions, is only one part of a growing discontent among some of the game’s leading black players.

It is a movement fuelled by a sense of grievance. On Saturday, Jason Roberts and players from Swansea and Wigan pointedly refused to wear T-shirts in support of the Kick It Out and Show Racism the Red Card campaigns.

Boycott: Anton Ferdinand refused to wear the Kick It Out shirt

Boycott: Anton Ferdinand refused to wear the Kick It Out shirt

On Sunday, their protest was joined by Anton Ferdinand, Nedum Onuoha, Junior Hoilett, Djibril Cisse, Alejandro Faurlin and Shaun Wright- Phillips, from QPR, and Steven Pienaar, Sylvain Distin and Victor Anichebe from Everton.

So how did it come to this Why are black players refusing to put on a T-shirt with a simple message, ‘One game, One community’, aimed at uniting football against racism

Chairman: Lord Ouseley

Chairman: Lord Ouseley

The refuseniks have certainly spread alarm among anti-racism campaigners. Ged Grebby, chief executive of Show Racism the Red Card, sent a desperate text message to those involved with the initiative on Saturday night.

It read: ‘Dear Team, Swansea and Wigan players have refused to wear our T-shirts today! This is a really backward step. We need to get the word out on what we do. Please forward this text message. This is a very serious threat to our work and the anti-racism movement.’

At the heart of the issue is Kick It Out, the body set up in England in 1993 with the brief to challenge discrimination and to provide an awareness programme across every level of the game.

Disillusionment with the organisation appears to have been bubbling away through a year scarred by the John Terry affair.

The Chelsea skipper’s triple punishment — a four-game ban, FA fine and club fine — for the unacceptable language he used towards Anton Ferdinand last October, has raised issues for black footballers.

Terry will be suspended for the visit of Manchester United on Sunday, but Kick It Out are being criticised for continuing their dialogue with Chelsea.

The organisation’s critics believe Kick It Out should have shunned the club when they announced that they backed the defender’s version of events and confirmed he would keep the captaincy.

To wear or not to wear: Everton's Steven Pienaar does not wear the Kick It Out shirt

To wear or not to wear: Everton's Steven Pienaar does not wear the Kick It Out shirt

Terry’s account was enough to secure a not guilty verdict in Westminster Magistrates Court, but the FA’s commission claimed his defence was ‘improbable, implausible and contrived’.

Some of the discontent is also directed at the FA, one of Kick It Out’s backers. This goes back to the reasoning given by England manager Roy Hodgson for leaving Ferdinand out of the Euro 2012 squad for ‘footballing reasons’.

The lingering suspicion among prominent England players is that it was more about avoiding the uncomfortable prospect of Terry and Ferdinand being in the same squad.

Other strands came into consideration as players pondered whether to support the Kick It Out and Show Racism the Red Card campaigns over the weekend.

Leading the boycott: Rio Ferdinand refused to support the campaign by wearing a T-shirt

Leading the boycott: Rio Ferdinand refused to support the campaign by wearing a T-shirt

Luis Suarez has never formally apologised to Manchester United left back Patrice Evra after repeatedly calling him ‘negrito’ during a fiery clash at Old Trafford last season.

Suarez, who served an eight-game ban and was fined 40,000 following the shocking incident at Old Trafford on October 15 2011, wore a Kick It Out T-shirt during the warm-up for Liverpool’s game against Reading.

He has shown little remorse for the incident and even refused to shake hands with Evra during a pre-match ceremony in February.

Some professionals are also angry after Lord Ouseley, chairman of the KIO campaign, claimed multi-millionaire footballers did not need any assistance to deal with issues of racism.

He added that it was ‘ridiculous’ if the players refused to wear T-shirts at the weekend as a direct protest against the organisation. His comments were met with outrage by some.

There will be an interesting exchange on Tuesday, when Reading striker Roberts is scheduled to attend an educational seminar at the Madejski Stadium in support of Show Racism the Red Card. Roberts was a key figure in leading the weekend protests, and it is hoped a dialogue may develop that may bring campaigners and footballers together again.

Lord Ouseley, who was part of the initial Kick It Out project in 1993, faces a difficult task to win over Ferdinand.

If he fails, perhaps the recently mooted breakaway organisation representing black footballers may be a step closer.

Hughes demands QPR tighten up in defence after League Cup exit to Reading

|

UPDATED:

15:38 GMT, 27 September 2012

Mark Hughes is pleased with the way QPR are playing this season but knows his side need to tighten up defensively if they are to kick-start their Barclays Premier League campaign.

The west Londoners have yet to secure a top-flight victory, with their only win this season coming against npower League One minnows Walsall in the Capital One Cup earlier this month.

QPR missed out on the chance to get another morale-boosting victory in the competition on Wednesday night as fellow Premier League strugglers Reading twice came from behind to win 3-2 at Loftus Road.

We must improve: Mark Hughes watches on as Queens Park Rangers are beaten 3-2 by Reading in the League Cup

Attention now turns back to league action and Monday's home clash with West Ham in which manager Hughes wants to see an improved defensive performance.

'We have conceded poor goals,' the Welshman said when asked what areas needed improving.

'The free-kick (by Nicky Shorey) was unstoppable, in fairness. It was a fantastic strike and obviously we conceded from a set play, which is always disappointing when you've given key roles and jobs to people.

'They need to mark people in the box and they didn't do that and the third goal (was a backheel in the six-yard box).

'We need to be a little bit more understanding of what is required in those key areas of the field.

'Once we get that a lot of the other stuff of our play is very good, but obviously we need to tighten up defensively.'

For QPR there are, though, mitigating circumstances as they are without a host of key defensive players.

Anton Ferdinand, Fabio, Armand Traore and Jose Bosingwa are all currently injured and set to be sidelined yet again when the Hammers come to W12 on Monday.

'I don't anticipate there to be any guys coming back,' Hughes said.

'Armand Traore possibly might start training next week but he won't be ready for selection. Apart from that, no (there won't be anyone back).'

New signing Stephane Mbia made his full debut in QPR's depleted defence on Wednesday night. The Cameroon international has struggled with a groin complaint since joining from Marseille and impressed on his first start for the Hoops, despite giving away a penalty late on.

'I thought he did fine,' Hughes said of Mbia.

'Obviously it was a different type of game to what he is probably used to, but for the most part I thought he looked strong and showed what a good player he will be for us.

'He hasn't played for a couple of weeks and hasn't had that many training sessions in fairness.

'I wasn't really anticipating having to play him for the whole match, but he came through it thankfully and he'll get better.

'It was a good test for him and he understands that this is the type of game that on occasions we'll have to play in both cup competitions and the Premier League.'

Mathieu Debuchy angry at Lyon for preventing Newcastle move

Debuchy hits out at Lyon for hampering his potential switch to Newcastle

Frustrated French right-back Michel Debuchy has hit out in anger at Lyon's refusal to sell him to Newcastle.

Debuchy explained he had been given several conflicting reasons why he cannot leave, by different people.

The 27-year-old impressed at Euro 2012 and has been a long-time target for Newcastle boss Alan Pardew.

'I called the president and left him a
message. I do not understand. One day I said I’m not leaving because I
have no replacement,' Debuchy told L'Equipe.

'One day, this is because the supply is insufficient to Newcastle. One day, the coach who is blocking me.

'One day, it was President. I feel that everyone does not have the same speech.

'I’m close to Yohan [Cabaye] and I followed his season. Now I have the chance to play in the best league in the world.'

Lille have already completed a deal for Troyes defender Djibril Sidibe, a similar type of player to Debuchy.

Debuchy wants to follow in the footsteps of Cabaye, who moved to the north-east from Lyon last summer.

The midfielder excelled in his debut Premier League season, thrilling Toon fans as they finished sixth.

Djibril Cisse promises to repay QPR fans at Manchester City

This is my biggest game… I promise to repay fans: Cisse desperate to help QPR escape

Djibril Cisse has enjoyed a flurry of red cards career packed with massive matches but he believes QPR's showdown at Manchester City eclipses the lot – even the 2005 Champions League final.

Cisse scored in the penalty shootout that night as Liverpool stunned AC Milan to win Europe's greatest club prize but now he is feeling a different kind of pressure going into the game that could decide QPR's Premier League future and see City crowned champions.

And if Cisse can help mastermind QPR's escape, he is desperate that fans will remember him for the goals rather than the red cards which have studded his rollercoaster few months at Loftus Road.

'I'm trying not to think about it but I know we are fighting for our lives,' said Frenchman Cisse, 30. 'That is why this game is in my top three most important games ever in my career.

'The other two were positive games, the Champions League final with Liverpool and the French Cup final with Auxerre. If you lose you have another chance the next season.

QPR: cost of the drop

Debt: 50m owed to owner

Wage bill (2010-11): 29.7m, estimated 45m now

Most recent losses: 25.7m (2010-11)

Fall in income if relegated: 40m*

*offset by 16m parachute payment next season

'But if you are relegated then your chance has gone for at least a year to play in the Premier League again and it could be a long wait before you get another chance. It's a different kind of pressure.'

And if they are relegated, Cisse is well aware that there will be fingers pointed at him for the red cards picked up in defeats by Wolves and Sunderland.

Those dismissals – and the subsequent bans – could yet prove more decisive than the five goals he has scored, the last of which was the 87th-minute winner against Stoke which handed his new team a relegation lifeline at the champions-elect. This earned the forgiveness of chairman Tony Fernandes, if not some fans.

'I missed seven games and now I have to give this back to the club and the fans,' Cisse said. 'I have to pay them all back. It's up to me to change the situation and make sure the fans do not have bad memories of me. If I score the winner at City, people will remember me for that, not missing seven games.'

Cisse, who was signed by Mark Hughes from Lazio in January for 4million on a two-and-a-half year deal, is adamant QPR, despite their desperate away form and going to a stadium that has not witnessed a City defeat this term, can stay up without Stoke's help against Bolton.

A draw at the Etihad will confirm their top-flight status next season but, if Bolton fail to win, Rangers will be safe anyway.

'I have never gone into any game thinking I will lose,' he said. 'We have quality players and City will be fighting to win the title, so anything can happen. We will not be thinking about Bolton, but about ourselves. I like these situations. When the pressure is on, I play at my best. I don't have to be the one who scores. It doesn't matter. Just as long as I'm a Premier League player with QPR next season.

'It's a different club to any I have played for before, but one with great passion, pride and history. We're a really good club. We don't have to win, or even draw at City if Stoke beat Bolton, but we have to go there aiming to get at least a point. To do this we will need to defend really well and then take our chances. It is possible.'

But if it does end in tears, Cisse has no thought of jumping ship – even if QPR might want to get him off their wage bill.

QPR: Cost of the drop

'If they want me and need me then I will stay, even if we go down,' he said.

In a career already littered with more highs and lows than most both on and off the pitch, Cisse hopes that this will be another plus added to his name. If QPR are relegated this tea-time, it will not be through lack of belief.

'Everyone knows it will be a difficult game and everyone knows it's a big, big game. But we are fighting and we are a good team – and that's enough of a reason why we can earn at least a point.'
