Hulk will cost Chelsea 85m

Porto slap 85m price tag on Brazilian forward Hulk to warn off Chelsea

Andre Villas-Boas has been told by former club Porto that Chelsea must meet Hulk's 85million buy-out clause if they want to sign the Brazilian striker.

Chelsea have been tracking the forward, 25, since before Villas-Boas took over, and the Portuguese coach is keen to be reunited with the player who scored 36 goals for him in his all-conquering 2010-11 season in charge of Porto.

But Porto's chairman Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa has quashed rumours of a transfer, saying: 'I've said it before, we would not sell Hulk and therefore Chelsea must activate his contract.'

Hulk is under contract at the Portuguese
champions until 2016, but his agent recently revealed a move to Chelsea
would interest him.

'We know there is lots of interest from Europe, but the player has told me privately Chelsea is his preferred destination,' he said.

A marquee signing such as that of Hulk would ease the pressure on Villas-Boas from the club's fans, but chairman Roman Abramovich is likely to baulk at the asking price.

Hazard tells friends he's heading to Spurs despite fears over 35m price tag

Tottenham look to have pipped Manchester United and Chelsea to Eden Hazard after he reportedly told friends he has chosen White Hart Lane as his summer destination.

After confirming he will leave Lille for the Barclays Premier League at the end of the season, it was thought the Belgium midfielder, 21, had agreed personal terms with Chelsea.

But he has settled on Spurs, according to sources in France, with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich still interested in Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Willian.

Lille's 35million asking price for Hazard was thought to be prohibitive, but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy intends marking his club's likely Champions League return with a marquee signing.

Tottenham are also planning moves for Newcastle keeper Tim Krul and Ajax skipper Jan Vertonghen.

Chris Samba admits he wants to quit Blackburn, with his likely destination London, as Tottenham and Queens Park Rangers scrap for his signature.

It could provoke a bidding war for the French-born Congo international, with French side Paris St German also interested in procuring the player.

The Ewood Park captain insists he has always shown commitment to the club that brought him to the Barclays Premier League, but hinted he was hurt by broken promises.

The 27-year-old has remained in Lancashire despite previous interest from the likes of Arsenal, but the takeover of Rovers by Venky’s has failed to deliver the star names that were initially mooted.

Samba told French newspaper L’Equipe that he was looking to move to a ‘more ambitious’ club and admitted he was flattered by interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

‘Lately, mentally, it has been difficult,’ said Samba. ‘I tried to maintain my level of performance, but I sense that it is time for a change. The club doesn’t evolve at all. I’m resigned.

‘I’ve always put the interests of the club before my own. I’ve invested a lot, always tried to lead by example, but things have not gone as I was told. I hope people will understand me.’

Blackburn fans would be devastated to lose their captain, though they share frustration at the way their club have declined.

Bottom of the Premier League, many have called for manager Steve Kean to be sacked.

PSG, bloated by Qatari wealth, have already poached coach Paul Clement from Blackburn to become Carlo Ancelotti’s assistant and could pinch Samba too.

The player said he wasn’t aware of anything concrete from PSG, but admitted: ‘In any case, it’s flattering. The club has reached another level, it’s not the PSG of a few years ago.

‘There are Leonardo, Ancelotti … I’m sure they will bring in great players. We shall see if the interest is confirmed or not, but it would be good for me to return home.

‘The most important thing is to find an ambitious club. I would love to experience something different.’

AC Milan claimed this week they had reached an agreement with Tevez and had sent an offer to City to acquirethe player on loan in the winter transfer market.

“We know that City”s desire is to sell the player but our offer is to get the player on loan with an option to make that deal permanent,” Galliani had said. “We hope that City says yes because our offer will not be modified.

“I am neither optimistic nor pessimistic. What I can certainly say is that the player would like to come to Milan, it would his preferred destination. But we must convince City to loan the player out and that is not easy.”

Galliani had also revealed Paris St Germain are also in the race to acquire Tevez.

The 27-year-old Tevez is set to leave the Blues in the new year after his latest fallout with the club.

The Argentina international returned to his homeland last month without City”s permission and he is yet to report back to training.
