Norwich have completed the signing of goalkeeper Mark Bunn from Blackburn for an undisclosed fee.

The Canaries snapped up the 27-year-old on a two-year deal in a bid to bring further competition to England stopper John Ruddy.

Bunn previously worked with Norwich goalkeeping coach Dave Watson, assistant manager Colin Calderwood and first-team coach Paul Trollope at Northampton.

He said: 'I'm delighted to be here to
start a new challenge and I'm looking forward to it. I'm looking
forward to seeing some familiar faces and getting to know the other
lads. It's a good time for Norwich – it will be a tough season and I
think we'll do well.'

On linking up again with Watson, he
added: 'He's a great coach and guy and I've known him for a while. It's
probably a big factor why I came here, and working with the likes of
Dave and John Ruddy too can only improve me as a keeper and I look
forward to working with them both.

'I've come here as I want to challenge and I want to play and hopefully whoever is playing well will be in goal for Norwich.

Norwich boss Chris Hughton said: 'I'm
delighted to have signed Mark. He is a keeper that will give us
valuable experience and competition at first-team level.'

Meanwhile, Norwich also agreed a deal for midfielder Tom Adeyemi to join npower League One side Brentford on a six-month loan.

Wigan manager Roberto Martinez has revealed for the first time that he turned down an approach from Liverpool to become their manager earlier this summer.

Martinez was strongly tipped to replace Kenny Dalglish before the Reds switched their attention to Brendan Rodgers, and now he has told the Daily Mirror that a concrete offer was made by the Anfield club.

The Spaniard, who turned down the Aston Villa job last summer, revealed that his reasons for remaining at the DW Stadium centred around a chat with chairman Dave Whelan.

'We must educate people,' said Martinez. 'In five or six years, we [Wigan] reap the benefits. Maybe I won’t be there then.

'But this is not why I stayed, when Liverpool made me an offer.'

He added: 'I stayed because my chairman is unique.

'This summer, we sat down together. He had thought about the future of the club, I’d done the same.

'He knew that I had spoken with other clubs. But he is so persuasive… I extended my contract for three years.

'He wants to take the club to the next level. I know it will be difficult, but it excites me a lot.'

agrees a fee.

Wigan rate the player at 10m.

Moses

Blues chief executive Ron Gourlay contacted Latics chairman Dave Whelan on Monday to discuss a new bid for the Nigeria striker.

Marseille president Vincent Labrune, meanwhile, has told L'Equipe his side have received a 'very serious' offer for Cesar Azpilicueta, with the Blues favourites to land the Spanish right-back.

Chelsea have already had three bids rejected for Moses, with Whelan holding out for 10million.

Moses has a year left on his contract but Wigan would be due compensation if he leaves next season given he is under 24.

He told ESPN: 'I have spoken to Chelsea's chief executive and they are easy to deal with.

'We have told them the price and they will come back and agree it or not.

'We would much prefer the player to sign a new contract and stay but he wants to go to Chelsea and it's a good club so we cannot stand in his way.'

Hull KR 24 Leeds 25: Rhinos edge out hosts after late Sinfield drop goal

|

UPDATED:

16:35 GMT, 5 August 2012

Kevin Sinfield's drop goal eight minutes from time secured a dramatic win for Leeds over Hull KR at Craven Park.

Leeds looked dead and buried at half-time, trailing 18-6, but three tries in seven minutes at the start of the second half put the Rhinos in the driving seat as they put their defeat to Wakefield behind them.

Rovers will see this as an opportunity lost after giving the champions a run for their money.

The hosts set the tone for an entertaining game right from the opening kick-off with a high-tempo opening.

Graeme Horne's fifth-minute try came on the back of a great break from young full-back Louis Sheriff. Michael Dobson's touchline conversion gave the hosts a 6-0 lead.

It was the worst possible start for the defending champions who were coming off a 38-18 defeat at Wakefield six days earlier, but they got back on level terms five minutes later as they opened the Rovers defence up with a mix of the future and the past. Highly-regarded Stevie Ward danced past Sheriff before offloading to the supporting veteran Danny McGuire to touch down close to the posts. Sinfield's conversion levelled the scores.

The fixture threatened to boil over with Brett Delaney and Dobson being put on report after Delaney up-ended Dave Petersen, bringing a reaction from Dobson.

Rovers were awarded the penalty, the first of two in quick succession which gave Rovers the perfect position to launch another attack. Josh Hodgson scored to move level with Kris Welham in the try-scoring charts and Dobson added the extras for a 12-6 lead.

Dobson took the lead out to 12 points with a virtuoso try in the 33rd minute. From 40 metres out, he broke through a tackle to score leaving Delaney, Ryan Bailey, Ward and Zak Hardaker in his wake and added the extras with the boot.

Leeds looked stung but responded well in the second half, and within 10 minutes had gone from 12 points down to four in front with three quickfire tries.

Sinfield and Hall, who combined to deadly effect against Wakefield, were at it again five minutes after the interval as a long over-the-top pass from Sinfield was grounded with ease by Hall. Sinfield added the extras but he was off-target with his next conversion which seemed easier after McGuire crossed following Kallum Watkins' pass.

Leeds' third try in seven minutes came courtesy of Carl Ablett as Rovers struggled to contain their rampant opponents.

After 15 minutes of Leeds dominance, Rovers finally made it into Rhinos territory and more importantly they made it count.

Rovers built up pressure by forcing a goal-line drop-out and drew level through Sheriff following Scott Murrell's clever reverse kick, before Dobson's fourth goal from four edged the Robins in front.

With 18 minutes left to play, the points were there for the taking.

Dobson's error close to the Leeds line let the Rhinos off the hook, and Sinfield levelled the scores at 24-24 after Murrell was penalised for a ball steal.

Now it was down to a drop-goal lottery and Sinfield, as he has done so often in his career, dropped the goal to seal a narrow win for the Rhinos with eight minutes to go.

The closest Rovers got to scoring was when Scott Taylor got to the line but knocked on trying to ground the ball.

Wigan are close to completing the signing of West Ham target Ivan Ramis from Real Mallorca.

The 27-year-old defender had looked set for a move to Upton Park, after Mallorca revaled that a deal had been agreed last weekend.

But the player has now passed his medical after being persuaded to move to the DW Stadium, and should complete his switch in the next 24 hours.

Chairman Dave Whelan told ESPN: 'He has passed a medical and it is being concluded.'

Whelan said the move was down to the influence of manager Roberto Martinez.

'The player doesn't speak English and didn't want to go to West Ham who had already agreed a deal.

'But Roberto asked me to go out to Mallorca where I met their chairman and with the club in receivership, they accepted my offer and then I went to see the player.'

Although they are set to miss out on Ramis, West Ham have strengthened their defensive resources with the signing of Wales international James Collins from Aston Villa.
