Stoke 0 Aston Villa 0: Britannia tussle lacks punch of Crouch and Bent
Stoke and Aston Villa both appeared to be missing their star strikers as they played out a goalless drwa at the Britannia Stadium.
Neither Peter Crouch or Darren Bent made their expected returns from illness and injury respectively, and there was little goalmouth action on show in a match high on energy, but low on quality.
Villa”s best chance fell toEmile Heskey, who headed against the outside of Thomas Sorensen”s left-hand post from a corner with the Stoke goalkeeper well beaten.
Stoke were left cursing their luck when Marc Wilson”s header from an Etherington corner struck the underside of the bar and was then bundled away by Agbonlahor, with replays indicating the ball may have crossed the line.
