Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to bankroll a
45million deal for Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao.

The Colombia international scored a hat-trick against
Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup last month.

And Abramovich is prepared to tie up a deal for the hitman
after running out of patience with 50m signing Fernando Torres.

Torres has been handed the task of leading Chelsea's line
this term after the departure of Didier Drogba.

But the Spaniard has struggled to find his form, scoring
just one goal in his last five appearances for the West London club.

Chelsea have turned their attentions to Falcao with a source
quoted in The Sun suggesting a deal is being readied to bring the
highly-sought after striker to Stamford Bridge.

'The groundwork is already being done for Falcao,' said the
source.

'The owner wants everything in place now so a deal can be
done before any other club can make a counter-offer.'
