Double or nothing, Ajax tell Newcastle as they demand 8m for midfielder Anita

Highly-rated: Anita impressed when Ajax met Manchester United in the Europa League
Newcastle have been told they will need to significantly up their initial offer for Vurnon Anita if they harbour any hopes of signing the Ajax midfielder.
Alan Pardew's 4million bid was swiftly rejected by the Dutch champions, although the Magpies boss has been told that a bid of 8m would be accepted, according to The Sun.
With Aston Villa also interested in the 23-year-old, Ajax are in no rush to accept an offer for Anita as they look to earn as much as they can out of their academy graduate.
Anita, who has three caps for Holland but is not in their Euro 2012 squad, impressed when Ajax met Manchester United in last season's Europa League knockout stages.
Tough-tackling Anita is primarily a defensive midfielder, although he is comfortable slotting in at left-back.
Both are positions that Pardew feels need strengthening, especially if Cheick Tiote is snapped up by either Chelsea or Manchester United – who have both expressed an interest in the Ivorian midfielder.
