West Ham refuse to budge on Tomkins deal as Newcastle are told to up offer

West Ham have told Newcastle they will have to increase their 3million offer for James Tomkins considerably to tempt them into a sale.

Newcastle are also interested in Middlesbrough”s Rhys Williams and Manchester City”s Nedum Onuoha but are looking for the best value.

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce said: “There might be some interest in James but it would have to be mega bucks for us to even consider that.”

Allardyce has been rebuffed in an enquiry for Huddersfield”s Jordan Rhodes while goalkeeper Marek Stech is wanted by Burnley.
