Newcastle fans will be hoping the club's scouting network has unearthed another star after the success of Hatem Ben Arfa, Yohan Cabaye and Papiss Cisse.

All three players have been instrumental in guiding the Magpies to the verge of a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Amalfitano has impressed at Reims where he has become known for his late runs from midfield and eye for a pass.
