Tindall the Barbarian as Ireland date beckons for former England captain
Mike Tindall is to make his return to international rugby when the Barbarians play Ireland in an end-of-season game at Gloucester on May 29.
The Gloucester centre, who has not featured in an England team since the dismal World Cup campaign, will be joined in the Barbarians’ squad by ex-clubmate Iain Balshaw, who now plays for Biarritz.
Tindall was originally fined 25,000 and axed from the England squad because of his drunken behaviour in New Zealand. The amount was reduced to 15,000 on appeal and he was reinstated, only to be omitted for the present Six Nations. He is currently in talks about a new contract at Gloucester next season.
