His manager Michael Laudrup claims he is worth 30million but Swansea City star Michu is ready to snub the biggest clubs on the planet and stay in Wales.
The 26-year-old Spaniard has been one of the surprise stars of the season, scoring 12 goals in the Barclays Premier League since his 2million bargain move from Rayo Vallecano in the summer.
Staying put: Spanish midfielder Michu insists he is happy to remain at Swansea
His prolific form has seen him linked with a quick-fire move in January, with Atletico Madrid among the named targets.
But Michu has insisted he is staying put at the Liberty Stadium for now.
He told Radio Marca: ‘Right now I’m happy, playing almost every minute and I’m very happy.
‘It is always nice that you get talked about with teams like Atletico Madrid, one of the largest in Spain, but now I am very happy in Swansea.’
Michu has adapted to life in the Premier League with remarkable ease. While the likes of Spanish superstars Fernando Llorente and Fernando
Torres have been struggling for form in recent months, Spain manager Vincente des Bosque revealed this week that he has been looking at the Swansea star with keen interest after his goalscoring exploits at the start of the season.
