Manchester United and Liverpool target Gaston Ramirez "going nowhere"

United and Liverpool told to stop chasing in-demand Bologna midfielder Ramirez

Manchester United and Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of Bologna”s in-demand midfielder Gaston Ramirez after the player”s agent ruled out a January move.

The Uruguayan is being tracked by a number of leading clubs across the continent having enjoyed a stellar campaign in what is an under-performing side.

The 21-year-old signed a new deal with the relegation-threatened Serie A club earlier this season and has gone on to score four times in 14 games, equalling his tally for the whole of the last campaign.

That has alerted United and Liverpool are both desperate to add some craft to their midfield as they chase the title and Champions League places respectively.

However, Ramirez”s agent has moved to silence speculation about his client by insisting there is nothing to discuss.

“There is nothing to say about Ramirez,” Vincenzo D”Ippolito said, adding in Calciomercato, “He”s only just extended his contract. He won”t be leaving Bologna.”
