Hamilton may be dragged into Sutil court case as German is accused of assault
Lewis Hamilton may be called as a witness in the case of Formula One rival Adrian Sutil's alleged assault on Lotus co-owner Eric Lux after the 2011 Chinese Grand Prix.
Sutil has been charged with grievous bodily harm after a clash with Lux in the M1NT nightclub in Shanghai last April.
In the dock: Hamilton could be called as a witness in Sutil's court case
It is believed the then Force India driver attempted to throw the contents of his champagne glass over Lux but is alleged to have cut the entrepreneur's neck with his glass, just missing a major artery.
If found guilty, Sutil, 29, could be jailed for a year. Hamilton, a close friend of Sutil who was present at the time, could be called as a witness.
