Some say women should retire their mini skirts once they hit 40, so 39-year old Kate Beckinsale must be making the most of her collection this spring.
Not that the actress needs to be governed by social fashion conventions, for she has the legs of a woman half her age, and one can be sure they won't be looking old anytime soon.
Wearing a scallop-edged skirt under a loose vest top, Kate strutted towards a restaurant in a pair of knee-high boots on Saturday with her husband and daughter by her side.

Kate has the movie Underworld to thank for her fantastically toned legs.
According to her personal trainer during the training for the film, they would focus on her lower body.
'Kate works hard when she steps
into the gym – we trained her full body, giving her legs and bum extra
attention.' Ramona Braganza told Health & Fitness.
Family day: Kate and her husband Len Wiseman took her daughter Lil Mo to The Six at Studio City
Coordinated: Both mother and daughter stuck to a monotone colour palette
Kate’s workouts started with
yoga-inspired stretches such as sun salutations and downward dogs, which
help get the blood flowing to all the major muscle groups.
The pair would then do some strength training for 45 to 60 minutes and Kate would finish the session with her own cardio.
Carrying a grey Chanel quilted handbag and a white blazer, Kate's ombre hair fell in loose tousles to frame her smiling face.
The style gooseberry: Len fails to match the fashionable standards of his wife and step-daughter
She also held onto a couple of gift
boxes from Fred Segal, which could mean the family of three were headed
to a party at The Six in Studio city.
The Underworld star's 14-year old
daughter Lily Mo – whose father is Michael Sheen – matched her mother's colour pallette, wearing a white T-shirt
tucked into black shorts, with lace up black boots.
However it seemed her husband Len Wiseman, 40, had let the stylish mother and daughter pair down, wearing a scruffy baseball cap and an untidy beard to match.
