Gylfi Sigurdsson says he does not expect to stay at Swansea City next season despite the club agreeing a fee with Hoffenheim.

The midfielder, 22, is expected to follow Brendan Rodgers to Anfield and said: 'I expect not to stay at Swansea. There is uncertainty there. Liverpool is considered.'

Rodgers has put Gylfi Sigurdsson and Clint Dempsey at the top of his transfer wishlist.

Rodgers has vowed to strengthen his Anfield squad as he looks to introduce the passing brand of football that served him so well at Swansea.

He hopes to steal Sigurdsson from under his former club's nose, and poach Dempsey from Fulham. Swansea have agreed a 6.8million fee with Hoffenheim for the Iceland international.
