Westley to complete Preston switch as Boro boss opts for new challenge

Graham Westley is set to take over as Preston manager after the Lilywhites agreed a deal with his current club Stevenage.

North End sacked Phil Brown last month after a string of poor results and David Unsworth and Graham Alexander have been in temporary charge.

Westley has impressed at Boro, guiding them from the Blue Square Premier to League One in his second spell at the helm.

Stevenage currently sit seventh, just three points behind Carlisle who occupy the final play-off spot, while Preston lie 14th.

Reports earlier this week suggested that Westley had agreed personal terms with just compensation standing in the way of the move being completed.
