Lineker faces fan abuse! Match of the Day presenter Gary heckled on weekly commute

BBC presenter Gary Lineker has admitted he faces abuse from fans when he makes his weekly trip to present Match of the Day.

Lineker travels to the north-west from his Surrey home every Saturday, and has become used to fans heckling him.

Lineker, 51, said: 'The train’s always full of football fans going up to see matches. Oh, they make sure I hear their points of view all right. They all want to have their say about their team, and make their opinions known.

'I end up arguing back all the way up! It doesn’t get too heated but there are plenty of “discussions”.'

The former Everton, Spurs and Barcelona
had to start commuting to Salford late last year after the BBC moved its sports department there.

And he told the Mirror: 'If I wanted to avoid any fans I’d have to travel before 5am, because I
have to get up there in time to watch all the games before the show.

'It’s not a bad commute though. I don’t mind it.'
