Fulham boss Jol closing in on deal for Cologne left back Riether

Fulham are closing on a deal for Cologne left back Sascha Riether, 29.

The versatile defender looks set to join the ranks at Craven Cottage on a one-year loan deal, with an option to buy.

He made 17 outings last year for relegated Cologne and has also made two appearances for the German national team.
