Toffees stuck on Diame as Moyes moves for out-of-contract Wigan star

Everton will move for out-of-contract Wigan midfielder Mohamed Diame this summer as David Moyes continues to shop on a budget.
The midfielder is unlikely to pen a new deal at the DW Stadium, and is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs despite a regressive campaign.
On the run: Mohamed Diame is set to leave Wigan Athletic this summer
As well as Everton, Newcastle are
considering an approach but must wait to see how their season ends
before settling on transfer targets, according to the Daily Mirror.
That delay is likely to leave Everton unchallenged should they move early for the powerful Senegal international.
Diame has started just over half of Wigan's games this season, falling behind the more creative duo of James McArthur and James McCarthy in the heart of midfield.
The French-born star is keen to stay in England when his contract runs out having largely been considered a success since moving from Rayo Vallecano in 2009.
