The 28-year-old has established himself as a key member of David Moyes’s squad but is now in the final 18 months of the agreement he signed after arriving from Atletico Madrid in August 2009.

He was linked with a potential move to Spartak Moscow in January but is said to be ‘very happy’ at Goodison Park.
