This picture works for me because it shows the human side of football.

Normally referees and footballers don't have contact. However, in the dying minutes of the Barclays Premier League clash between Spurs and Swansea at White Hart Lane, Andre Marriner forgets the divide to lend a helping hand to Emmanuel Adebayor.

It happened in a split second – blink and missed it.
