Hazard warning! AVB told to put 25m raid for Lille midfielder on hold until summer
Andre Villas-Boas plans to continue the rebuilding of his squad with a move to bring Lille's 25million-rated midfielder Eden Hazard to Chelsea.
Hazard is one of Europe's most sought-after talents, a playmaker with an eye for goal who has bagged seven goals in 19 league appearances so far this term.
The only stumbling block could be the two club's valuations. The Blues plan to table a bid of 25m, well short of the Ligue 1 side's desired 33m.
On the move Hazard could be heading to Stamford Bridge
And a Lille official has warned the Blues they will not be willing to sell until the summer.
Jean-Michel Vandamme said: 'Yes, we have received a lot of very interesting proposals. But the clubs want the player immediately and on this we have a very clear idea: Hazard will remain at least until the end of the season. He will not go.'
Villas-Boas has revealed he is a fan of the Belgium international and could be lining up a move for the player who is also wanted by Arsenal, Real Madrid, Juventus and Bayern Munich, according to The Sun.
One player not leaving, however, is Frank Lampard. The Chelsea stalwart has been used in a reduced role under the Portuguese and his future had been the subject of intense speculation.
Manchester United were planning a sensational raid for the England international, but the Chelsea boss has re-stated that the 33-year-old is going nowhere.
Portuguese said: 'For sure, Lampard is not available (for sale). Every player wants to find consistency and playing time.
'It's normal everybody wants to be involved. Frank, with the player he is and the history he represents, wants to be involved all the time, but every player is competing for a place.
'I've said the same all season, even when Frank had more playing time and others didn’t. Everyone is fighting to be in it. Frank is the fifth or sixth most used player at Chelsea.'
