Maradona in hot water with UAE FA after launching verbal attack on rival coach
Diego Maradona has been fined 9,000 dirham (around 1,600) by the UAE’s FA for verbally abusing rival coach Cosmin Olaroiu.
Maradona, who coaches Al Wasl, has been feuding with the Al Ain coach since last month, when the Argentine said that Olaroiu and his staff celebrated a goal in an unprofessional manner.
Olaroiu told reporters Maradona’s criticisms came from someone ‘who doesn’t have a clear mind,’ a reference to Maradona’s history of drug and alcohol abuse.
