Alan Pardew will be without his two leading strikers against Maritimo after Newcastle travelled to Portugal without Senegal duo Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse.

Pardew has been forced to call-up 17-year-old homegrown forward Adam Campbell for the club's opening Europa League clash after Cisse was forced to withdraw from the squad with illness.

Cisse's strike-partner Demba Ba was also missing from the party which flew out from Tyneside on Wednesday morning a day after his agent suggested he does not understand his current role at the club.
