David Platt refutes Harry Redknapp"s claim that Manchester City are buying title

Platt hits back at Redknapp's claim that Manchester City are buying title

Manchester City first-team coach
David Platt has blasted claims by Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp that
City are buying their way to the title.

Redknapp insists he can be proud of
the way third-placed Spurs have built their squad in comparison to
leaders City, who have spent nearly 450million.

Buying: Harry Redknapp

'There's one trophy,' said Platt. 'There's no trophy for spending money or not spending money. You get a trophy for being top of the pile.

'Harry's got a right to be proud of what he's done. But I don't know where the money comes into it. I think it's irrelevant.

'He should still be proud if he finishes second and a point behind us. But we'll be happy with that as well!'
