Agger blow for Liverpool as Danish defender faces month out with cracked rib
Liverpool could be without Daniel Agger for a month after x-rays confirmed the defender cracked a rib during the Carling Cup win at Wembley.
Agger was forced off just before the end of normal time as the Reds went on to beat Cardiff City on penalties.
The 27-year-old pulled out of Denmark's friendly against Russia and is set to miss Liverpool's weekend clash with Arsenal as well as matches against Sunderland, Everton and the FA Cup tie against Stoke.
Crocked: Daniel Agger is set to miss key games for Liverpool
Agger was sidelined for a month with a similar injury earlier in the season and Anfield boss Kenny Dalglish must decide how to cope with his absence.
Jamie Carragher replaced Agger against the Bluebirds and could come in to partner Martin Skrtel while Sebastien Coates is pushing for a start.
Meanwhile, Skrtel was this week named Slovakia's player of the year for the third time.
