Birmingham goalkeeper Colin Doyle is close to sealing a free transfer move to Championship rivals Ipswich.

The Republic of Ireland keeper has been thrust into the forefront of Chris Hughton side's promotion tilt due to Boaz Myhill's knee injury.

Doyle is preparing to play a major role for the Blues in their forthcoming play-off campaign.

But the 26-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is on the verge of a move to Portman Road.

Doyle has made 13 appearances for Birmingham this season.
