Samba fury as Blackburn reject defender's transfer request
No move: Samba has been denied a transfer
Blackburn Rovers risk defender Chris Samba not playing for them again after club owners re-iterated to their captain he was not for sale.
Samba held a conference call with the club's Indian owner Anuradha Desai on Wednesday and was told that he will not be sold in this transfer window but may be allowed to leave Ewood Park in the summer.
Samba, who was far from happy at the news, handed in a transfer request earlier this week and it is doubtful whether he will figure against Everton on Saturday.
QPR have made two bids for the 27-year-old while Tottenham and Paris St Germain are monitoring developments.
The club's bold stance could yet backfire if Samba's mood affects the rest of the squad.
However, one player who may be allowed to leave is Blackburn striker Jason Roberts.
Championship side Reading are keen to sign the 33-year-old on loan.
Blackburn have also confirmed that Bordeaux striker Anthony Modeste has joined on loan for the rest of the season, as revealed by Sportsmail.
