Michu once again underlined exactly why he is being touted as signing of the summer as he plundered his 15th goal of the season to give Swansea the advantage at half-time in the Capital One Cup semi-final.

The 2million man proved to be the best Spanish striker on the pitch as his goal late in the first-half won the match in which 50million Fernando Torres struggled badly to find any rhythm.

Chelsea enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges but failed to beat an inspired Gerhard Tremmel.

And they made to pay the ultimate price when a Branislav Ivanovic mistake was pounced on by Michu.

Danny Graham then doubled the lead in stoppage time.
