Virus hits Palace's Carling Cup preparations as boss Freedman waits on naming his team
Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman has been forced to delay the selection of his team to face Cardiff on Tuesday due to a virus.
Nathaniel Clyne, Paddy McCarthy, Anthony Gardner, Julian Speroni, Mile Jedinak and Sean Scannell have all been struck down.
You lot, over there: Dougie Freedman has seen has squad ravaged by a contagious bug
And due to the contagious nature of the bug, Freedman is this morning sweating on further casualties ahead of the Carling Cup semi-final first leg at Selhurst Park.
‘We’ve done everything we can to stop it but it has spread even over the weekend,’ he said. ‘There are six or seven that had the effects of this virus. Some had it, some trying to get rid of it, some just coming on.
‘I don’t know about my team until 5pm tomorrow. My worry is if it catches any more. I’m dreading the phone call tomorrow morning saying somebody new has got it.’
