Yilmaz is highly regarded by former Turkey national team manager Guus Hiddink and his compatriot Jol is willing to take a chance with the 26-year-old Turk's buy-out clause set at around 4million.
Turkish sources say Yilmaz has provisionally agreed personal terms with Fulham for a three-year contract with the option for a fourth.
But Fulham are yet to finalise the deal.
