Bolton close in on Ream as defender Cahill agrees Stamford Bridge switch
Mega-money: Tim Ream
USA defender Tim Ream was at Bolton's training ground on Friday with a view to sealing a 2.5million move from Major League Soccer's New York Red Bulls.
Bolton will offer Ream 30 times his basic salary to become Gary Cahill’s replacement at the Reebok Stadium.
Cahill's 7million to Chelsea was expected to go through after agreeing personal terms, but the England defender’s current
35,000-a-week deal is equivalent to the modest $55,000 Ream earned in
an entire year with New York Red Bulls in the last Major League Soccer
The 24-year-old US international is
in line for a pay rise but nothing like the 20,000-a-week he can expect
at Bolton if his 3m move goes through,
Sunderland reserve goalkeeper
Trevor Carson, 23, has joined Hull
on a month-long loan.
