Olympic warning for Ox as Wenger prepares to explain fitness fears to Games hopefuls

Arsene Wenger will hold talks with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ahead of the teenager’s potential involvement in London 2012.
And similar discussions with Aaron Ramsey and Kieran Gibbs are also planned as Wenger attempts to point out the detrimental effects that playing in the Olympics could have on them next season.
Chamberlain’s promising breakthrough season means he has an outside chance of making the Euro 2012 squad — but if not selected, he is a leading contender for Great Britain this summer.
Warning: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be summoned for a talk with Arsene Wenger
And Sportsmail understands the 18-year-old would answer the call if selected by Team GB this summer.
But next season is likely to be key to Chamberlain’s development as he looks to become a first-team regular at Arsenal, hence Wenger’s concern.
Not advised: Kieran Gibbs will be informed of Wenger's fitness fears
Gibbs, 22, is also in line to make Stuart Pearce’s Team GB squad should he not go to Poland, but Wenger fears the Olympics would put unnecessary strain on the left back’s body after his recent injury problems.
The Frenchman would also prefer Welshman Ramsey, 21, to have a summer’s rest ahead of next season.
