Rovers Kean on January move for on Fulham”s 2m-rated striker Johnson
Steve Kean expects to be given the green light to move for wantaway Fulham striker Andy Johnson in January.
The Blackburn Rovers boss is hoping to add firepower to his beleaguered side in the hope of pushing them up the table to save their Barclays Premier League lives.
Kean will meet with Rovers” owners Venky”s during which he will hope the 2million move will be sanctioned.
On the move Johnson could be heading to aid Rovers relegation battle
Venky”s will take a gamble on Johnson while they also trying to sort out their own finances, according to The Mirror.
Kean had been expected to be sacked following their dire run of form this season, but the battling point away at Liverpool has given the Ewood Park boss renewed hope of saving his job.
Johnson was left out of the squad for the recent clash with west London rivals Chelsea and Kean has made no secret of his desire to add at least four players to his squad in January.
Following the 1-1 draw at Anfield on Boxing Day, Kean said: “I think we need four and if we can get them quickly, together with lads coming out of the medical room, I think we can climb the table quickly.
“If we can get established players in and get them bedded into the team then that can only be good for everybody.”
