Carroll exit must be sewn up in good time if he is to leave Liverpool before window closes

Andy Carroll's Anfield career must be resolved before transfer deadline day – unlike last year – if he is to leave Liverpool during this window.
The England striker moved to Liverpool in the final hours of deadline day in January 2011, but with Newcastle looking to bring him back, there will be no such dramatic departure this time.

The 23-year-old has already turned down a potential switch to Premier League new boys West Ham, but may be tempted by a return to hometown club Newcastle.
Carroll started on the bench during Liverpool's humiliating 3-0 defeat at the hands of West Bromwich on Saturday, and new boss Brendan Rodgers appears to favour Fabio Borini and Luis Suarez up top.
The striker has been largely disappointing at Liverpool, and has only scored six league goals since his arrival on Merseyside for 35million last year.
Liverpool are looking to bring in reinforcements of their own.
